The Role
Here at Fisher & Paykel Appliances, we design with people in mind and the lives lived around our products. We aim to create moments of delight together in the heart of the home, sustainably enhancing the quality of people’s lives, now and for future generations. This purpose is the very heart of why we exist, it’s our reason for being here.
We are driven by our values of being trusted, sustainably minded, innovative, generous, and curious. As a team, we take a collaborative approach and have a working environment where all ideas are heard, evaluated, and tested against our leading goal - to be the world’s most human-centered appliance brand.
What’s this role about exactly?
We are looking for an experienced electronics or mechanical engineer with significant and relevant technical expertise, with an interest in continuing their career in safety & compliance engineering. As a senior addition to a small team, you will support design of our products as to safety and compliance for our markets, thus enhancing the competitiveness of our brand. We apply the philosophies and tools of Learning First (Lean) Development into our everyday work practices to ensure we are applying the right tension to the product development process.
You will contribute and deliver against functional plans, able to plan your work to achieve timely and effective outcomes. You will test and analyse a variety of concepts to create new knowledge, understand limits and develop trade-off curves in the format that is used for design decisions, and can be referred to and used by others. You will use knowledge gained from testing and research to ensure safety and compliance in all design components and subsystems of our end products.
This role requires you to proactively collaborate with people from other teams to identify and develop excellent outcomes.
