Zero-Max is currently recruiting for a Product Development Engineer At Zero-Max the Product Development Engineer is a key team member of the Engineering team and is responsible for supporting the development and commercialization of innovative motion control products. The successful candidate will provide engineering support to the team in the way of research, development, testing, product enhancement, continuous improvement, and testing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead the design of new or enhanced motion control devices in alignment with our quality system and regulatory requirements using advanced SolidWorks modeling and simulation tools. Maintains expertise with competitive products, competitive benchmarking, and with new technologies related to motion control, for self and for other engineering resources Guide design reviews and ensure timely completion of deliverables Contributes to the development of new products, brings different perspectives to conceptualization Reviews and approves engineering designs, drawings and other engineering documentation needed for manufacturing prototypes and product samples Participates in testing products including assisting Product Engineering with ideas for test plans, test setups, and decisions on standards Collaborates with internal manufacturing resources, sales, inspection, and with outside suppliers to ensure that engineering documentation and manufacturability of new product is of the highest quality Analyze existing designs and machinery to propose innovative design or process improvements Support transition of design concepts, detailed design and product release information to manufacturing partners (internal or external) Provide ongoing technical/engineering oversight to manufacturing partners (internal and external) Ability and willingness to take a “hands-on” approach to meeting project scope and timing including assisting project team members in completion of deliverables as needed Exemplify Zero-Max’s core values of Provide Best in Class Service and Solutions, Hold Ourselves Accountable, and Do the Right Thing Other duties as assigned Requirements Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Seven years of product development experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Requirements Strong background in design controls, test method development, and materials/process selection Skilled in CAD (SolidWorks), lab tools, and statistical methods Experience from concept through commercialization Strong project management capabilities Desired Requirements Experience working in a machine shop Experience with ERP systems, Epicor experience is a plus Background in Statics & Strength of Materials Physical Demands/Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
