We are looking for a skilled Product Development Coordinator to help manage our development initiatives and ensure our products meet the highest standards from concept through mass production.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As the Coordinator in our Product Development department, you will collaborate closely with in-house design and engineering teams to develop and produce new items, define product features and specifications for all items, and coordinate the scope of new products with the sourcing teams and the factories in China and other overseas locations. This role will oversee the entire product development process for our diverse collection of brands, ensuring timely and successful mass production. We want someone who is genuinely passionate about technology—someone who loves to push buttons and explore how things work!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Design, or a related field; design/engineering background highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in product development, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the consumer electronics industry.
  • Strong understanding of product specifications and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for technology, with a desire to push buttons and explore product functionalities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
  • Fluency in Chinese is a significant plus, enhancing communication with our overseas partners.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with in-house design and engineering teams to develop and refine product concepts, features, and specifications for new consumer electronics and digital accessories.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product development and feature sets for our diverse product lines.
  • Coordinate and participate in product testing and sample evaluation, highlighting areas of improvement and ensuring alignment with our specifications and expectations of quality.
  • Communicate directly with our international suppliers, primarily in China, for brands like Monster, Black+Decker, Energizer, and Xtreme in categories such as home theater A/V, lighting, smart home, gaming, and more.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with factories and suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and timely delivery.
  • Manage the product development timeline, ensuring milestones are met from concept to mass production.
  • Monitor production processes and address any issues that arise, ensuring products meet quality and budgetary requirements as well as compliance with industry standards.
  • Prepare and present product development reports and updates to senior management.
