Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development & Sourcing Manager with deep experience in housewares. This role is ideal for someone who understands the full product lifecycle—from identifying market needs and trends to sourcing from China and presenting compelling product assortments to clients, especially in the off-price retail space.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Product Development: Lead the ideation and development of new housewares items, guided by consumer demand, client feedback, and retail trends.
  • Sourcing: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships in China. Negotiate costs, MOQs, lead times, and ensure quality control.
  • Product Planning & Forecasting: Analyze sales data and market trends to plan product lines, forecast demand, and manage product life cycles strategically.
  • Client-Driven Curation: Recommend and introduce products based on each client’s positioning, pricing strategies, and market demographics.
  • Off-Price Retail Focus: Understand the dynamics of the off-price market (e.g., Ross, TJX, Burlington, etc.) and develop product lines with the appropriate margin, packaging, and sell-through goals.
  • Trend & Market Analysis: Research global trends, retail shifts, and competitive products to guide product innovation and assortment planning.
  • Product Presentations: Create compelling product decks and sales presentations tailored to specific client needs and retailer formats.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, packaging, logistics, and sales to ensure timelines and deliverables are met from concept to shelf.
