Ability to run tests independently on various SIL test facilities. High School Diploma Five (5) or more years of experience in FMVSS safety related testing required Five (5) or more years of experience in vehicle, lab, or bench instrumentation required Capable of independent operation on the Servo Sled, Seattle Sled, Bendix, Monterey, Tinius Olsen, Seat Integrity (FMVSS 202A), IHI, OOP, VIA Sled, Environmental Chamber, Roof/Door Strength and Seat Anchorage test facilities Self-starter, highly motivated, strong team player with a positive attitude Familiarity with ATD's and associate instrumentation including multi-axis load cells, accelerometers, and displacement transducers. Five (5) or more years of experience working with Kistler high-speed data acquisition systems. Proficient with PC based systems such as SPRITE/SPROUT request manager, Crash Designer, Trace Cam, and TEMA camera control. Knowledge of vehicle systems and fabrication experience. General machine shop and hand tool skills and knowledge. Candidates will be required to be available to work afternoon shift and overtime. Design, fabricate, modify, and mount customized test fixtures. Run standard tests independently and support test engineers for unique one-off testing. Interpret, set-up, and run newly developing procedures in support of new programs. Safely handle, install, and deploy airbags, air curtains, pyro-seatbelts, and other pyro-technic devices. Review initial test results/data to ensure quality test events. Install and position ATD's to the required specifications in support of all various test modes. Set-up instrumentation including multi-axis load cells, accelerometers, and displacement transducers. Prepare and run Kistler high-speed data acquisition systems. Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of operational tools which include instrumentation, cabling, control equipment, and test stand. Manage parts flow to and from all SIL test facilities per established guidelines. Work with various requesting engineers to work out any discrepancies to the supplied test matrices. Required to follow all SOP's associated with tasks as well as EH&S. Responsible for maintaining all work area documentation including note logs, check sheets, and sample inventory. Responsible for maintaining specific lab supplies. Help to identify and implement new tools, methods or processes to improve quality, efficiency and timing. Provide feedback to or participate as a member of process improvement or facility project teams. Participate in training of new employees. Instruct and guide less experienced staff to fully understand and utilize standard procedures and work practices. Will be required to meet all workplace health and safety requirements and practices. Provide feedback and identify opportunities to improve workplace conditions. Continually work to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained and proper data quality is achieved. Position requires cross-training and re-assignment to other Safety Laboratories Department sites/operations as business needs dictate. Established and active employee resource groups
