SUMMARY

This role has the technical leadership of product value streams encompassing the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-performance processes to deliver conforming components to our customers on time.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Broad knowledge in multiple advanced manufacturing technologies within aerospace industry (Milling, grinding, turning, heat treatment, coating, tooling & fixtures, etc.)
  • Highly organized and systematic individual with demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Exceptional attention to details.
  • Outstanding analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. Critical thinking.
  • Efficient use and interpretation of data to identify problems/deviations to standards and expected results.
  • Experience with Solidworks, PowerBI, and Microsoft Office suite. Syteline knowledge preferred.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills. Able to effectively communicate (verbal, written) across hierarchies and functions and interact with others. Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Thorough understanding of quoting processes.
  • Ability to make technical decisions with financial bottom-line impacts.
  • Strong customer service and support skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Precision machining experience preferred.
  • Aerospace background a plus.
  • 3 - 5 years of product engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or machining environment.

Responsibilities
  • Architecture, modulation (changes), documentation, and continuous improvement of product specific value streams.
  • Implement end-to-end processes based on lean production methods.
  • Develop strong relationships to stakeholder of product group(s) (internal and external) to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide technical inputs to quotes (costing) and facilitate successful outcomes (material, subcontract requirements, packaging, laboratories, cut-ups, etc.).
  • Pro-active optimizations of costs and efficiencies.
  • Yield improvements.
  • Elimination of scrap, non-conformances, and rework.
  • Ensure cost efficient tooling strategy for parts (usability, ergonomics, mistake-proof).
  • Preventive risk mitigation activities.
  • Architecture, modulation (changes), and documentation of product CAD model.
  • Create, edit, implement, and maintain approved data (shop routings, operation sheets, Bill of Materials)
  • Approve and suggest updates to standard work.
  • Approve inspection methods in conjunction with quality and process engineer to meet customer requirements.
  • Qualify new equipment/value stream integration of new equipment.
  • Measure value stream performance trends. Manage key performance indicators for each area of responsibility (costs, process times, non-conformances, etc.).
  • Pro-active Kaizen in collaboration with Operations team.
  • Support application developments.
  • Coach operators to excel.
  • Create and maintain product FMEA.
  • Troubleshooting.
  • Management of NPI, including costs and schedule.
