Position Summary
The Product Engineer is responsible for supporting both mechanical and electrical parts pertaining to the most critical line functions within the product engineering group. Support critical areas (Frame/Tub/Spin) on both WA/WB lines to ensure all equipment and parts within these locations are working properly and according to specifications. Assist the development and implementation of new models and identify solutions for product issues of current/new models.
Role and Responsibilities
1 Collaborate with Production and Engineering to implement, optimize, and troubleshoot test loops used on the during production line to validate product quality, safety, and functional performance of new equipment/parts in critical function areas.
2. Monitor critical machine functions to ensure quality and process are correctly followed
3. Implement projects focused on quality, safety, and productivity throughout product lifecycle
4. Create and revise standards, policies, and procedures related to development and engineering
5. Support technical solutions for electrical or mechanical problems during plant setup process for critical line areas
6. Assist Product Engineering Manager in staff training [Sector Leaders currently have people management responsibilities over a team of 5 PEs]
7. Participate in New Model / CR Discussion meetings with relevant divisions for information sharing and status update of action items required for New Model Development
8. Verify and communicate Engineering Change Samples for Quality, Cost, and Delivery improvement
9.Collaborate with HQ PE and Mold teams to draft and submit requests for mold modifications for Part Design Change to solve line issue, improve material quality , and implement Fool Proof design.
10. Suggest countermeasure for Main Line Production issues, and design improvement for Mass Production and New Model materials to enhance quality and productivity
