Job Details Job Location: ATEK Metal Technologies - New Hampton, IA 50659 Position Type: Full Time Job Category: Engineering We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Product Engineer to develop and implement robust foundry processes and systems, ensuring the successful launch of high-quality products on time and within budget. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product launches while maintaining excellence in quality and efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Product Launch Management: Lead new product launches from initial development through PPAP and the handoff to the Operations team and Manufacturing/Process Engineers. Simulation and Design Feedback: Conduct simulations on new product designs and collaborate with the Tooling and Design teams to suggest necessary changes to tooling design before release. Process Development: Assist Process Engineers in developing detailed work instructions and process sheets for new products, leveraging data generated from Computed Aided Engineering (CAE). Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning and maintain capacity maps for processes, ensuring new processes meet demand without overextending resources. Design Reviews: Participate in internal and customer-facing design review meetings, offering valuable insights for product optimization. Cost Optimization: Identify cost inefficiencies for new products and implement cost-reduction strategies and lean manufacturing efforts. Education and/or Experience Expected: Associate’s degree or equivalent. Minimum of five years of foundry experience. Strong technical expertise and knowledge of engineering principles related to the foundry industry. Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams for developing PFMEA and Process Control Plan. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. Experience with CAD and Casting Simulation software. Knowledge of blueprint reading and GDT principles. Working Conditions: Works in climate-controlled office 50% of time.
