We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Line Manager, IEC Grid Edge Metering, to lead our team and to develop and manage Itron’s next-generation electric IEC meters—cutting-edge products that blend advanced communications, grid intelligence, and sustainability in powerful new ways. You won’t just manage a product—you’ll be helping shape the future of the smart grid. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, a deep understanding of the electricity metering industry, the ability to lead and inspire teams, and a passion for driving innovation. Product managers will be expected to define the strategic direction of their products through the lens of knowledge they acquire about their business’s strategic goals and market’s demands. The Product Line Manager will lead and manage their team to meet business objectives. They will clearly communicate strategy to multiple stakeholders, earn buy-in from decision makers, and ensure the appropriate teams understand their roles and have the tools they need to execute the strategy. Just as important as speaking the dialects of each team involved in their product’s development, product managers must also be able to understand those dialects to ensure they can clearly articulate what is needed from each group. Like a CEO, a product manager must coordinate with, delegate to, and persuade a broad set of constituencies. They own ultimate responsibility for the product’s success or failure, as well as for any issue that comes up during development — from technological setbacks to negative market feedback, to personnel issues, to financial problems. Level Summary An experienced product management professional in one or more specialty, owns a product or multiple products or single product family with minimal oversight, working independently to resolve a diverse scope of product issues or achieve objectives. Accountable for the alignment and delivery of initiatives. Uses advanced disciplinary knowledge and expertise to operate on core teams of significant complexity, acting under the general guidance of more senior leaders. Collaborates, recommends, and establishes changes that affect teams to achieves short-term goals. Key Responsibilities: Lead a team of product managers that develops and executes product strategies for Residential (SP & PP) and C&I electricity smart metering solutions as well as peripheral products such as Distributed Transformer Monitoring (DTM) and Low-Voltage Feeder (LVF) monitoring. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure successful product development and launch. Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape. Define product requirements and specifications based on customer feedback and market insights. Manage the product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, ensuring products meet quality, cost, and performance targets. Work closely with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure product satisfaction. Monitor and report on product performance, making data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement. Manages to innovative operational and/or functional objectives that enable successful execution of larger department goals, ensuring outstanding performance of KPIs and action plans. Specifies market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers. Experience: Mandatory: 4 years relevant IEC metering experience in sales, engineering or marketing. Preferred: 4 years of product management experience Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
