As the official pet registration provider for more than 250 jurisdictions, DocuPet is the largest and fastest growing pet registration platform in North America.
Our proprietary platform consolidates all pet information into a single place and provides the services for pet owners, community members and animal shelters to ensure pets can be reunited quickly if they become lost.
Beyond our platform, DocuPet offers specialized pet tags, an AI-powered pet tracker, lost pet alert system, and will soon be launching a first-of-its-kind pet parenting mobile app - all aimed to ensure every pet in North America is registered and that each has a safe and happy home.

COMPENSATION

We are looking for a skill and value fit. This role is posted with a wide salary range with the consideration that a perfect candidate may not have all of the skills or experience we need for the full range of the role. Compensation will not, however, be based on previous role earnings, but rather on the skills and experience that the selected candidate can provide to our business upon joining the team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The DocuPet solution includes an easy to use online licensing system, branded website and communications, real-time tracking and reporting, fulfillment and customer service, and value-added services for pet owners including our Lost Pet Alert System and Rewards Program.
As a Product Management Manager (alternatively to be termed Director of Product Management), you’ll help guide the vision and strategy of the pet licensing software that transforms the way pet owners register their pets, the services and experience they are presented with online, and the tools available to program administrators. You will identify new opportunities and collaborate closely with DocuPet’s leadership team to shape both the future of the product and be hands-on in executing DocuPet’s vision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overseeing DocuPet’s suite of software products
• Defining and aligning the high-level software product vision and strategy
• Evaluating the market, competitors, partners and customers to ensure DocuPet and its software products remain relevant and competitive
• Working closely with DocuPet’s leadership team to understand how DocuPet’s suite of software products are used internally, by partners and customers and what they need
• Collaborating with internal teams on competitive positioning and market development on suite of software products
• Assessing forecasts and financial models to determine how to distribute resources to deliver the highest return on investment
• Working with the product management team to develop the suite of software product roadmaps
• Lead a talented software product team including product managers, product designers, and product analysts
• Coaching and mentoring product team members
• Building the product team, including nurturing internal staff or recruiting new talent

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, THE CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a technical related field or equivalent experience
• 10+ years career experience in software product design and / or management
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a leadership position
• Experience in developing cross-platform (web and native) software applications
• Experience in developing B2C and B2B SaaS software platforms
• Experience in defining product metrics and measurement framework implementation
• Experience in performing analysis to deeply understand user behaviour
• Proven ability to communicate with and manage multiple stakeholders
• Proven ability to influence people and decisions
• Extensive business knowledge, education, and experience with an entrepreneurial mindset
• Highly proficient in the end-to-end process of software product design and innovation, including concept, design and development
• Keen interest in software development and technology
