Description
The Product Management Manager is responsible for the adoption and enablement of technology solutions that support and accelerate the practice and business of law at Sidley. This role manages the execution of the implementation and user engagement of the portfolio of assigned technologies. In collaboration with other Data and AI leaders, this person identifies opportunities to improve and/or expand the portfolio of assigned technologies and to collaborate with other firm solutions. The Manager is directly responsible for supporting change management, communications, training, and continuous improvement as it relates to the portfolio of assigned technologies. The Manager works directly with the Client Intelligence team, Data and AI leaders, and other stakeholders to define best practices related to the portfolio of assigned technologies. S/He is integral to the development of training programs and materials and related communications, interacting regularly with internal resources such as Information Technology, HR, Change Management, Learning & Development, and Library & Research Services, as well as with external resources including vendors and consultants. Under the direction of Data and AI leadership, the Manager contributes to the development of product road maps as needed, and manages the execution of these road maps in furtherance of the firm’s Data and AI goals. This person leads cross-functional teams to plan, manage, and complete assigned projects, ensuring the relevant business goals and priorities are clearly documented and communicated. Duties and Responsibilities: Management of program-wide user engagement, including but not limited to change management activities, communications, training, and continuous improvements. Manage the execution of the implementation and ongoing administration of assigned portfolio technologies. Define the desired user experience and acceptance criteria for features and functionality, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals and Client Intelligence and Data and AI priorities. Manage active and passive feedback loops to assess the efficacy and adoption of portfolio of assigned technologies and provide that feedback to Data and AI Leadership for product road maps and enhancements. Manage the development of implementation and communication strategies aimed at maximizing the impact and value of the portfolio assigned technologies and manage their execution. Under the direction of Data and AI leaders, contribute to the development of strategic business goals and overall road map for the technologies to address current needs, as well as to anticipate future growth and opportunities. Supervise and mentor direct reports and other team members in the day-to-day management and administration of the portfolio of assigned technologies. Ensure compliance with all applicable data privacy regulations and policies. Education and/or Experience: Required: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university Minimum of seven years of experience working with relevant technologies Demonstrated ability to manage complex technology projects with competing deadlines and priorities Demonstrated ability to translate strategy and priorities into tangible action items and execute effectively Familiarity with law firm structure and business practices, as well as practice-specific terminology Experience managing project teams from inception through planning, execution, and completion Preferred: Familiarity with legal technology such as experience or expertise systems, research tools, workflow systems, and/or legal project management or practice management tools Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools and a solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process Basic understanding of law firm structure and business practices, as well as practice-specific terminology Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Experience recruiting, onboarding, and developing direct reports and leading cross-functional teams MBA or related advanced degree in technology-related field Other Skills and Abilities: The following will also be required of the successful candidate: Strong organizational skills Strong attention to detail Good judgment Strong interpersonal communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Able to work harmoniously and effectively with others Able to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion Able to work under pressure Able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future. #LI-KG1 #LI-Hybrid The target salary range for this role is: $123,000 - $169,000 if located in Illinois. Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
