Description Type: Non-exempt (Benefits eligible) Department: Hospital Services Work Days/Hours: Friday- Sunday, 2:30 pm - 1:00 am Reports to: Product Management Manager Location: Jenny Eller Donor Center, Fresno, CA Pay Range: $19.00-$21.13/hourly Pay Grade: 5 Work Modality: On-site Job Summary This position is focused on providing efficient and courteous service to our hospital partners across the Central California Blood Center service area through the management of requested blood products and services. This role places strong emphasis on providing exceptional customer service to all external and internal clients, through in-person interactions, phone, or web-based systems, by providing and/or creating access to blood products and/or services needed by hospital partners. Essential Responsibilities Ensures proper labeling of blood products, packing and fulfillment of orders for delivery, regionally and/or nationally, while also assisting in managing inventory resources. Handle incoming customer calls efficiently with excellent phone etiquette and professionalism. Receive orders, pack, and ship blood products according to established policies and SOPs. Direct hospital complaints or questions to relevant departments promptly. Escalate significant issues to management for resolution. Cultivate positive hospital relationships. Maintain accurate records and document processes effectively. Identify potential hospital service issues and implement proactive intervention measures. Manage blood inventory efficiently, including importing blood products from other facilities. Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations, including blood handling process. Monitor and maintain Hospital Services equipment, updating records and charts as necessary. Perform data quality control checks on storage equipment and shipping procedures. Performs component preparation, including labeling and irradiation of blood products, quality control and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). Performs packing of all blood and/or other products for shipping and delivery. Perform special procedures such as washing of units and adding satellite bags for pediatric transfusion. As needed, safely and courteously transport and deliver blood products, specimens, equipment and supplies to hospital partners and CCBC sites across the Central California Blood Center service area. Attend all 1:1 and department meetings as scheduled. Requirements Qualifications and Skills Education/Licenses/Experience High school diploma or GED, required One year in clerical support role requiring strong attention to detail Previous experience in customer service or a related field, preferred Must have a valid California driver’s license, and a clean driving history with no major violations in the last five years Skills Must demonstrate courteous and professional phone and written communication skills. Excellent ability in providing professional, efficient, and friendly service. Must be self-motivated and a team player. Ability to coordinate with other departments on client-related matters. Strong interpersonal and recordkeeping skills. Willingness to accept additional hours where necessary to meet operational needs.
