Description
Role Overview: We’re looking for a high-ownership Product Manager to lead the end-to-end onboarding journey at Cashfree Payments — converting top-of-funnel traffic into retained, multi-product merchants. This role demands strong product thinking, deep experience sensibilities, and a data-backed approach to systematically improve merchant acquisition, activation, and time-to-value. You'll work across Growth, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and Ops to build an intelligent, seamless, and scalable onboarding experience for India’s most ambitious digital businesses. You'll be expected to take full ownership of this charter and deliver measurable business outcomes that directly influence Cashfree’s growth. Key Responsibilities: Own the full merchant onboarding funnel: from traffic and sign-ups to KYC, product setup, and early adoption Design segment-specific journeys that accelerate activation and deepen product adoption for different merchant types (Ecommerce, SaaS startups, aggregators, platforms) Partner with Design to craft intuitive flows and deliver “Aha!” moments early in the merchant journey Drive AI-led initiatives like lead qualification, onboarding automation, and document intelligence to improve speed and service levels Collaborate with Growth to align on traffic sources, lead quality, and conversion insights Build internal tools and scalable systems to support high-volume, compliance-sensitive onboarding at scale Lead a structured experimentation roadmap to optimize key metrics like activation rate, KYC TAT, and early product usage Continuously mine data, user feedback, and drop-off points to iterate and improve conversion and retention Ensure that onboarding experiences align with regulatory and operational constraints without compromising on UX Requirements: 4–6 years of product management experience, ideally in B2C, or platform businesses Deep experience owning activation, onboarding, or funnel optimization Proven ability to work with AI/automation use cases – e.g., lead scoring, OCR/NLP-based workflows, queue prioritization Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, PostHog, SQL, or internal BI tools Demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes in cross-functional, compliance-sensitive product areas Ability to think holistically across UX, operations, growth levers, and backend systems Strong written and verbal communication; can rally teams and stakeholders around clear product priorities
Responsibilities
The Product Manager will own the entire merchant onboarding funnel, focusing on converting traffic into retained, multi-product users through segment-specific journeys and AI-led automation. Key tasks include partnering with Design and Growth teams to optimize activation, KYC TAT, and early product usage while ensuring regulatory alignment.
