Description
Help reinvent how housing gets designed, permitted, and built in America. Cedar is building the operating system for urban housing delivery. We combine architectural expertise with software, automation, and data systems to dramatically accelerate how projects move from land acquisition to approved designs and construction. The result: faster timelines, higher quality, lower risk, and more housing in the cities that need it most. Our team blends architects, engineers, and product builders. We design real buildings — and we build the software systems that make great architecture scalable. The Role As a Product Manager on the engineering team, you’ll own core platform capabilities that power Cedar’s AI-driven automation, analysis, and design delivery workflows. You’ll work directly with engineers and architects to turn messy real-world constraints into reliable AI-powered systems and clear product direction. This is not a roadmap-only role. You’ll stay close to model behavior, system performance, and real-world outcomes. What You'll Do Own product direction for AI-powered platform capabilities, internal tools, and automation workflows Translate complex domain problems into clear product requirements, system behavior, and evaluation criteria Partner tightly with engineering on technical tradeoffs, model integration, and sequencing Define success metrics for accuracy, reliability, latency, and business impact Drive discovery through user feedback, production data, and rapid iteration Identify opportunities where automation and intelligence create step-function leverage Create clarity and alignment in ambiguous problem spaces Who You Are Strong product judgment with a systems mindset Technically fluent (APIs, data models, AI pipelines, workflows) Comfortable owning ambiguity and making tradeoffs under uncertainty Motivated by building platforms and intelligent systems, not just features Pragmatic, collaborative, and outcome-driven Qualifications 5–10+ years in product management or adjacent technical roles Experience shipping complex technical products end-to-end Strong partnership with engineering and data teams Comfort working with ML-powered or automation-heavy systems Bonus: experience with developer tools, data platforms, or applied AI products Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary Meaningful equity ownership Healthcare, dental, and vision Early-stage ownership and impact
