Build your career at Iress!
We are looking for a product professional to be part of Iress’ transformation, in delivering next-generation global trading and market data applications within a SaaS based distribution model. Iress organises software delivery based on the direction set by the Product team. A key role within the Product team is the Product Manager, whose primary role is to research the market, competitive landscape and our clients needs, and with Iress’ engineering teams translate the problems to solve into brilliant software products.
Product Managers define, build, and operate Platform capabilities. These capabilities are fulfilled via internal engineering teams, or via 3rd party SaaS products, and often a combination of both. If you are a forward-thinking Product Manager that will create and execute industry leading product which our clients love, then come join the Trading and Market Data Product team.

Some of the awesome things you’ll be involved with:

  • Define and deliver Foundational capabilities as products to be consumed by internal engineering teams, and external Iress clients
  • Lead the development and definition of product roadmaps and work with internal and external teams to bring those products to life and manage throughout the full product lifecycle
  • Champion the internal and external adoption of foundation capabilities and services
  • Define learning and adopting paths for internal and external consumers of foundational capabilities
  • Undertake market analysis and research to inform product prioritisation and sequencing, and that product roadmaps are complete and iterated upon. Ensure product backlogs are regularly groomed and that the backlog accurately reflects current status
  • Key proactive contributor in initiative discovery sessions, shaping the outcomes. An active contributor to go to market plans
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Product Analysts and Engineers to ensure that problems are really well understood, and that engineering teams are clear on how to translate that vision into delightful software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to grasp and articulate technical, financial and conceptual ideas
  • Manage aspects of cross-team dependencies (within and beyond Product teams) to keep track of key products and deliverables from inception to production iterations

What you will bring:

  • A product management professional. In-depth knowledge of product management frameworks and disciplines and how they apply to large-scale software businesses, or digital platforms and channels
  • A leader of products, not projects. Experience leading a product through its lifecycle and adopting goals and roadmaps through scaling engineering capacity through different iterations
  • A cloud practitioner. Experience using or managing cloud products, and a demonstrated history of improving skills and knowledge of cloud platforms
  • A driver of collaboration. Ability to create positive working environments and lead positive outcome based discussions. Experience bringing new groups of people together. Own and lead platform product initiatives end-to-end from discovery, through prioritisation, and ideation, through adoption and iteration
  • A customer focussed agilist. Ability to understand different consumer needs and ensure that platform capabilities and support methods/materials are tailored to these audiences. These could be other internal engineering teams, our clients, or clients of our clients. Open minded about shifting ideas and approaches, and demonstrates an ability to navigate a path
  • A great communicator with influencing skills. Comfortable working with, getting feedback from, and articulating priorities to a range of internal and external stakeholders. Clearly articulate tradeoffs and risks and solve problems through critical thinking
  • An adaptor. Some engagement with overseas teams and clients at times outside of standard business hours is a requirement of this position. Adept at simultaneously managing multiple deadlines across geographically distributed teams. Ability to identify changes to ways of working that contribute to a more efficient/effective product management and software delivery discipline
