Description The Product Manager is accountable for managing a group of products in alignment with the Global strategy by analyzing the market and portfolio and collaborating with other business functions throughout the product lifecycle. RESPONSIBILITIES Ambassador of Market Needs for the PM Organization Perform competitive benchmarking on all products as needed to maintain portfolio competitive advantage and provide talking points regarding the value of our products. Collect information about problems, products and applications that are needed in the different markets across our subsidiaries. Champion for applications with an understanding of the global view. Prepare Product Proposal documents to consolidate market needs and communicate the solution or product vision to the project team. Review sales patterns of current product offering to determine market trends. Project Based Work (Product Engineering Process and Product Portfolio Management) Responsible for proposal of products to be phased out from Schluter’s product portfolio. Responsible for the quality of the input provided to the global organization (Product Engineering Process database and Product Idea Database). Responsible for creating the Go-to-Market Launch strategy, training, and demo plan. Validate and Communicate Product Information Collaborate with all Schluter departments as it pertains to the product life cycle, and New Product Development (R&D, operations, technical, legal, marketing, customer service, customer relations, and sales) to develop necessary market requirements, documentation, product position, literature, and go-to-market launch strategies. Communicate the understanding of global applications and benefits as well as transferring them to subsidiary locations. Accountable for Product Management topics, transcription, adaptation, and communication of product information including technical content, messages to customers, with language translation as needed. Key stakeholder in Product Information Management process on a global basis Review and provide feedback for all product marketing materials (technical literature, sales brochures, samples, videos, website, etc.) Monitor and Analyze Industry Status Perform competitive benchmarking on products in the Schluter Portfolio – work with other product owners and corresponding R&D and Technical disciplines. Continuous review of innovations and new practices as an Innovation Team Expert. Recommend product ideas based on industry problems, competitor advantages and gaps in our product portfolio that fulfill our system strategies. Where necessary, monitor industry codes, standards, and certifications for changes that impact Schluter System products. Analyze impacts and inform Product Management through detailed reporting.
