About MoneyMonk

That will make you go bookkeeping

What started at the kitchen table of two brothers has now become a thriving family business with enthusiastic colleagues and satisfied customers.

MoneyMonk helps tens of thousands of entrepreneurs and accountants get their administration in order quickly. We do not (yet) do this as the largest player in the market, but certainly as the most committed.

And our goal? Happy customers who do business with confidence!

Our culture

We are proud of our organizational culture. Critical, flexible, eager to learn, and goal-oriented as we pursue our ambitions. Open, social, sociable, and informal when it comes to interacting with one another. A perfect environment in which you can grow as an individual and as a team.

About the role

We have a strong engineering team that we, as the product team, support by thinking things through before they write the first line of code. If a specification is unclear, their time is spent figuring out what is meant rather than building.

You do the thinking. You figure out what the real problem is, determine what the solution should look like, and which edge cases we need to take into account (we call that figuring-out capability).

After that, you ensure that the solution is actually implemented. You are the connecting link between our customers and engineering, ensuring that we build the right thing.

Our team is still small: a UX designer and a Head of Product, to whom you report. We work with a team of seven engineers, so we have plenty of build capacity. And because we have so many ideas and build capacity, we want to expand our team with a third, or even a fourth colleague!

In addition to the colleagues in your own team, you work daily with colleagues from Support, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.

You have two areas of focus. The first is our administration product, which entrepreneurs and their accountants use to keep track of their records. The second is the accountant portal, which we offer to accountants to enable them to collaborate efficiently with their clients: hundreds of MoneyMonk users.

What you are going to do

  • Discovery: Our signals come from Support, Marketing, and Sales. They have daily contact with entrepreneurs, accountants, and prospects, and they feed you with what is going on. You also speak with an accounting firm occasionally yourself. You compare these signals with our product data to see if the picture is accurate. In doing so, you take into account how many customers are affected and what it costs them.
  • Functional specifications: You write the document that the engineers will work with. It outlines the origin of the request, what we aim to achieve, how it should work, and what edge cases exist. You create the visual designs together with our UX designer. You also list what is not included, because to be able to move quickly, that is almost just as important!
  • Construction supervision: During construction, you are the point of contact for the engineers. If the scope changes along the way, you document what shifts and who needs to be informed. And when something goes live, you check it yourself against your own specifications, including those edge cases.
  • Launch and implementation: Together with Marketing and Support, you ensure that the target audience knows it exists and that Support can handle the questions. Afterwards, you check whether it delivers what you hoped for. If not, you come up with a proposal.
  • Market Overview: You keep track of what competitors are releasing and what legislation is coming our way. You take this into account when prioritizing and planning your work.
  • AI in our work: We are a company that likes to use tools if they help us work more efficiently. This also applies to the field of AI. Internally, we currently primarily use Claude (Code). In doing so, we naturally take customer data and their privacy into account.

Your future and development at MoneyMonk.

You start by developing and delivering, gradually taking over work from the Head of Product. The better you know our product, our market, and our customers, the more of that knowledge will shift to you.

We assist you with this through on-the-job training, and we also provide ample training and an annual budget of €1,000 for courses, books, online training, etc. Together with your manager and our HR specialist, you can work on your own PDP program (Personal Development Plan).

We are growing fast, so there are plenty of next steps and growth to come! And your growth also includes salary growth, so you can expect plenty in that regard at MoneyMonk over the coming years!

What we are looking for

Level: Higher Professional Education (HBO) or University (WO)

Work experience: At least 2 years in a software product role, as a product manager, product owner, functional designer, business analyst, or similar. Experience in SaaS, the accounting domain, or as a software developer is a strong plus.

Problem analysis: You break down a complex problem, identify patterns in individual signals, and trace it back to the core. This is the most important quality for this role.

Writing: You write clear and complete specifications that others can work with without asking.

AI literacy: You deploy AI tooling where it improves your work and do so safely.

Mentality: You feel at home in a growing organization. You contribute ideas on how to streamline the work process and show initiative.

What do we consider important?

Personal growth: We encourage each other to continue developing.

Honest & clear: Transparent software and communication, without fine print.

Customer first: Building sustainable relationships instead of quick fixes.

Freedom & responsibility: Room to make independent decisions and help build our processes. What will you be doing?
