  • 5 years of product management or similar role involved in driving key product requirements for complex products. Experience with hardware products is a big plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to convert large amounts of customer data, market trends, competitor information and business goals into actionable product requirements
  • Comfortable making data-informed decisions, running experiments and interpreting experiment results to drive good decision making
  • Ability to rally a team, coach cross-functional peers and create a good team dynamic, even in challenging times
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges
  • Driven and results oriented, making sure we don’t get caught in an “analysis paralysis” even when all data may not be readily available
  • Excellent documentation skills ensuring that all decisions and requirements are well documented and trade-offs are explained
  • Fluent English oral and written communication skills. Our working language is English.

ABOUT US

As a company still in our early stages, our way of working is continuously evolving, and you will have the opportunity to make an impact on how we do things. We are passionate about product development, animal welfare, farmer welfare and sustainable agriculture. We genuinely believe our grazing technology is the biggest technological change in agriculture since the tractor!
So far, our clients have used Nofence in a range of creative ways, including regenerative cattle farming, conservation grazing with goats, regenerative grazing with sheep, and even government work! Yet we have only just scratched the surface, and already have 700 million hours of operation on animals with recorded behaviour data to explore.
Still curious? Visit our website.
The Product and Engineering team is currently a team of 30 employees working across our three Norwegian offices. We are open for candidates that can work from either Oslo, Molde or Trondheim. We believe in cooperation, adaptiveness and a fun and relaxed working environment.

Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE

Our Product & Engineering team design and develop the mechanics of our physical product and the electronics that go into it. We develop the firmware that runs on the device and the cloud service it communicates with. We design and develop the mobile and web apps that our customers use. In short, there’s a lot of exciting work to be done, and by joining us you will be one of our keys to success!
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to take responsibility for the products that we have out in the market (approximately 100,000 collars sold to date), as well as the Nofence app and firmware. We see this as a key strategic role that will contribute both to customer satisfaction today and help unlock tremendous customer and business value in the future.
We also believe, and are sure you agree, that presence with our customers and observing the animals are important to further develop the product in use. In the field you will gather valuable insight to make sure our product continues to delight.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner closely with Engineering, User Experience/Service Design, Support and Commercial teams to define the product requirements for the Nofence app and firmware
  • Prioritize and handle potential issues/improvements to the existing hardware products out in the field
  • Balance customer needs, technical feasibility and business goals in order to deliver the right product to the right customers at the right time
  • Collaborate closely with VP Product and other key stakeholders to define long-term product strategy and vision, and execute on those by aligning development with the bigger picture
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of customer feedback and field data to continuously refine product requirements. It is expected that you will spend some of your time visiting customers in the field (both in Norway and abroad) and building relationships with colleagues in all tech offices (Oslo, Molde and Trondheim)
  • Act as the voice of the customer within the organisation, ensuring our product addresses real-world needs
  • Facilitate decision-making throughout the development process to ensure alignment within the development team and to stakeholders
  • Benchmark competitor solutions and performance, technology advancements and macro trends to make sure our product remains market leading
  • Clearly communicate and document the rationale behind product requirements, decisions and trade-offs, and provide updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders on plans and progress
  • Manage the full lifecycle of products in the market, including sunsetting legacy products at the right time with clear decision-making and communication
  • Contribute to fostering a strong Product culture at Nofence through your own behavior and example, as well as by taking initiative
