Position Summary The Product Manager is responsible for both current product/portfolio management and new product development.  Identifies opportunities for enhancement to products based on market needs, customer requirements, user feedback and technical capability.  The product manager acts as the primary point of contact for all product-line related activities – working with engineering, sales, marketing, finance, operations, supply chain and customer service.  Of primary importance is the ability to lead and own the strategic development of product lines in terms of innovation and technology, and the subsequent delivery of all workstreams related to product activity.  Principal Responsibilities * Become a subject matter expert in the markets and applications of the Americas product ranges. * Understand the product with regards to customers, competitors, market dynamics and outlook. Consistent customer interaction and sales collaboration. * Work with sales and marketing to identify market opportunities and customer requirements. * Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand, recommend and develop product opportunities.  * Discover and qualify opportunities for profitable new product development. * Research identified opportunities to create product specifications, business cases and supporting information. * Lead project teams (with all relevant departments) to develop and execute the NPD process. * Proactive lifecycle analysis and portfolio management of current product lines; monitor and take/recommend action as appropriate. * Work with the marketing team to develop compelling commercial plans including all collateral – such as packaging, literature, technical documents, and campaigns for existing and new products. * Build strong working relationships with the quality and engineering teams to understand and influence the compliance bodies and shape industry standards. Required Qualifications and Skills * Bachelor’s Degree required (Business, Marketing, or Engineering is preferred). * Extensive experience within product management role. * Expertise in project management across large functional groups.   * Significant relevant commercial experience. * Great communication skills to have the ability create buy-in for product vision with both internal and external stakeholders. * Ability to multi-task and lead multiple projects simultaneously. * Must be a team player and have superior collaborative abilities and inter-department communication skills.  Required Qualifications * Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.  MBA is preferred Technical Skills * Strong technical foundation.  * SAP experience.   * Experience of the product life-cycle - current product management and new product development including successful introduction to the market. * Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.  * Self-motivation with the ability to keep many projects on schedule and demonstrate excellent teamwork and decision-making skills. * Excellent verbal and written skills required with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.  * Demonstrated ability to meet or beat assigned targets, KPIs, and deadlines consistently. * Seasoned experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Project.
