EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • 3+ years of experience in retail product management, preferably in the financial service industry.
  • Strong analytical background with experience in business casing, pricing analysis, and performance tracking.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel including advanced functions, macros, pivot tables, and modeling; experience with Power BI or SQL is an asset.
  • Strong experience in product design, campaign management, project management & delivery, P&L and risk management.

SKILLS

  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Hands-on experience with project management and change management in a cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to create compelling executive-level decks.
  • Knowledge of digital product development and customer experience design is an asset.

Responsibilities

The Product Manager, Savings, is part of the Everyday Banking Products team within Canadian Personal Banking, reporting to the Senior Manager, Savings Product Management. This role is responsible for managing and evolving BMO’s Savings portfolio, ensuring it remains competitive, profitable, and aligned with BMO’s overall strategy, values, and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
The Product Manager develops and implements product strategies to drive customer acquisition and balance growth, optimize profitability, and enhance the customer experience. This includes supporting the development of innovative products and offers, optimizing pricing strategies, and driving digital enhancements that improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to build business cases, conduct pricing and performance analysis, and deliver actionable insights that influence strategic decisions.
The Product Manager has profit & loss (P&L) accountability for the Savings portfolio and is responsible for managing associated product and operational risks. Success in this role depends on the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal partners, including Finance, Compliance, Customer and Product Analytics, Modelling and Artificial Intelligence, Customer Optimization, Digital, T&O, Marketing, and Operations and Salesforce Effectiveness. Over the next few years, this role will have a significant impact on BMO’s growth by leading end-to-end product and offer development, reinforcing our customer-first approach while driving sustainable business results.
