Description
Te Tūranga | About the Role: Our Product Manager – Sheepmeats and Venison plays a pivotal role in shaping how two of our most important categories perform on the global stage. Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for our next Product Manager for the Sheepmeats and Venison portfolio of products. You’ll take a strategic, end-to-end view of demand, supply, and market opportunity, bringing together livestock inputs, sales plans, and operational constraints to create a clear, optimised commercial roadmap. This is a role that “solves the business jigsaw” by balancing competing inputs to deliver the best possible outcomes for revenue, margin and product mix whilst balancing customer demand. Working closely with our Global Markets, Sales teams, Livestock teams, S&OP, and Operations, you’ll ensure our Sheepmeats and Venison programmes are positioned and executed in a way that maximises value. You’ll also act as the key link between customer demand and production capability, translating insight into action. This role is based in our Dunedin Hub and involves occasional domestic travel to our processing sites.   Ōu Pūkenga | About You: You’re a commercially minded problem solver who thrives on complexity. You enjoy working across multiple inputs (data, market insight, operational constraints) and turning them into clear, actionable plans. This role is unique in that it requires all three of: technical expertise, industry knowledge depth, and full-cross-functional relationship breadth – having high capability in these three areas are key to success in this role. You might come with a background as a commercial analyst who wants to start working enterprise-wide, a product/category management role who wants to operationalise your skills, or sales background where you’ve also got a lot of tech skills that you want to put into further use. What sets you apart will be your ability to connect data to commercial outcomes and be able to present recommendations and influence decisions across a wide stakeholder group. In addition, you bring: * Strong analytical capability, confident working deeply in Excel and data tools (Power BI exposure beneficial), as well as bringing a modern approach to data problems and a desire to build better tools for understanding data and inputs. * Commercial acumen with the ability to transform data into insight, and subsequently into recommendations on pricing, product and demand decisions.  * The ability to build credibility across diverse stakeholders, from plant teams through to senior commercial leaders  * A continuous improvement mindset, with a drive to evolve our tools, systems and ways of working across the team and wider business. * Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complexity, present to groups, and influence decisions in areas that may not be an area of ownership. * Experience in, or affinity with, the red meat, primary industries, or supply chain environment will be highly valued   You’ll also be: * Curious, driven, and quick to learn  * Comfortable navigating ambiguity and competing priorities  * Someone who enjoys working at the intersection of strategy and execution    Te Ahurea | Why Work at Silver Fern Farms?
