WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Sportsnet Product team and help us define and execute the development roadmap for Sportsnet.ca. This role includes collaborating with other Sportsnet Product Managers including mobile and the Sportsnet+ streaming experience. As a Product Manager you will guide and coordinate a multidisciplinary web product team consisting of developers, designers, UX researchers, data analysts, and QA engineers. You’ll own the development and integration of statistics, data and editorial content acros Sportsnet.ca as well as the backend tools used by the editorial team.
The successful candidate will run daily standups, facilitate sprint planning and retrospectives, and maintain a well-groomed product backlog. You’ll prioritize features based on user needs and business value, coordinate cross-team dependencies, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards through effective collaboration with QA. Strong candidates will forge relationships with internal stakeholders such as editorial, analytics and marketing, in addition to engaging with external vendors. You will balance your own expertise with inputs from all groups, always keeping top of mind: user experience, engagement and the priorities of the business.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Work with SN Product team to define and evangelize a compelling product vision for Sportsnet.ca.
  • Develop and implement a product roadmap and align key stakeholders on priorities, sequencing, delivery status and launch plans.
  • Serve as the product owner in the agile development process by maintaining product backlogs, defining user stories, and ensuring delivery in every sprint.
  • Collaborate daily with the UX and development teams to clarify questions, remove roadblocks, and evaluate trade-offs to iteratively build and improve our products.
  • Ensure Sportsnet’s web experiences are best-in-class for sports fans, with an emphasis on user experience, accuracy and performance.
  • Propose and participate in user research and testing initiatives to optimize our web experience, improving sports content consumption and customer engagement.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership throughout all SN product life cycles, work with software engineers on best practices for the teams, and drive operational excellence of large-scale streaming, mobile and web products.
  • Uncover and understand our customer needs and translate them into technical requirements, while assessing and addressing technical risks.
  • Rigorously use product analytics to uncover insights that drive product adoption and evolution.
  • Perform acceptance testing on new features, fixes and updates.
  • Relentlessly carry out competitive analysis and benchmarking.
