Position Summary Product Managers at HYDAC drive the strategic lifecycle of innovative technology products, from ideation to end-of-life. They bridge market needs with technical execution, focusing on cross-divisional growth, profitability, and competitive differentiation. While Application Engineers resolve client-specific technical challenges, Product Managers own market-driven roadmaps, pricing, and stakeholder alignment. Requirements Job Tasks Market & Strategy Leadership Develop product vision, strategy, and 3–5-year roadmaps informed by market trends, competitor analysis, and ROI projections Define pricing models and positioning strategies for new/existing products, incorporating customer feedback and cost structures Lead business case development for product investments, including market sizing and risk assessments Cross-Functional Execution Translate market requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams (e.g., performance benchmarks, compliance standards) Coordinate product launches across engineering, marketing, and sales, ensuring alignment with timelines and quality standards Oversee beta programs, analyze customer validation data, and iterate pre-launch Performance Optimization Monitor KPIs (market share, margin, customer satisfaction) and adjust strategies using usage analytics Identify product gaps through field visits, win/loss analyses, and collaboration with sales/support teams Business & Customer Growth Identify high-value market opportunities through customer interviews, win/loss analysis, and competitive benchmarking Lead RFPs and technical proposals for strategic accounts, collaborating with sales to close deals Build relationships with key decision-makers (e.g., plant managers, procurement directors) via quarterly business reviews and roadmap workshops Project Leadership Own end-to-end execution of large opportunity projects Delegate smaller customization requests to AEs, providing technical guidance and escalation support AE-to-PM Support Mentor AEs emphasizing strategic prioritization and stakeholder management Document shared processes (e.g., CRM integration) to streamline handoffs Skills and Attributes Strategic Analysis: Expertise in market segmentation, SWOT analysis, and financial modeling Technical Fluency: Ability to articulate industrial product specifications (e.g., hydraulic systems, filtration standards) to non-technical stakeholders Leadership: Proven ability to align engineering, sales, and executives on priorities under resource constraints Customer Focus: Deep empathy for industrial client pain points and workflow integration needs Education and Experience Required: 5+ years of field-based roles (Application Engineering, Technical Sales) or 3+ years in Product management. Proven track record in technical sales support or project leadership Ability to travel up to 30%+ of the time Preferred: Bachelors in engineering, Business Management, or related field.
