WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are seeking an enthusiastic and analytical Junior Product Owner with a passion for leveraging data to build impactful products. In this role, you will support the product development lifecycle for our data-driven marketing solutions, including the WPP Open platform. You'll be instrumental in translating user needs and data insights into clear product requirements, ensuring our solutions are innovative, valuable, and technically sound. Your strong understanding of data and SQL will be key to communicating effectively with engineering and data science teams and making informed product decisions. WHAT YOU WILL DO Support Product Development & Lifecycle Management Assist in defining, documenting, and prioritizing product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria based on user needs, business goals, and data analysis. Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, Data Scientists, and UX Designers to ensure a shared understanding of product features and their underlying data implications. Help manage and refine product backlogs, participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews), and support release cycles. Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify opportunities and stay informed about industry trends in data and AI for marketing. Leverage Data for Product Insights and Validation Utilize SQL and other data analysis tools to query datasets, analyze product performance, identify trends, and generate insights that inform product strategy and prioritization. Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to understand data availability, schemas, quality, and potential for new product features or enhancements. Define and track key product performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, helping to evaluate the success of new features post-launch. Help ensure data quality and integrity within product features, flagging discrepancies or potential issues. Facilitate Stakeholder Communication & Feedback Communicate product updates, release notes, and progress to various internal stakeholders, effectively highlighting the data-driven rationale behind product decisions. Gather feedback from users, internal teams (e.g., commercial, operations), and clients to continuously iterate and improve our products. Support in preparing presentations and documentation to articulate product vision, strategy, and roadmap. Continuous Learning & Contribution Actively seek to deepen your understanding of AdTech data, our internal platforms (including WPP Open), and user behaviors through self-study and mentorship. Contribute to the continuous improvement of product management processes and tools within the team. WHAT YOU WILL NEED 0-2 years of experience in a product, business analyst, data analyst, or similar role with exposure to software development. Proficiency in SQL is essential, with the ability to write complex queries to extract, analyze, and manipulate data from various sources. Solid understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts. English fluency C2 Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) is a strong plus. Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and the software development lifecycle. Ability to define and document clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable product insights. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and vice-versa. Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
