Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or a related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience with SQL or a similar query language.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Experience in machine learning, AI, or recommendation systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a Technology or Business related field.
  • 3 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, consulting).
  • 3 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
  • 2 years of experience in software development or engineering.
  • 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales, finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to present to leadership using good storytelling from a user-focused perspective, with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Lead key core ML model quality projects within Homepage recommendations such as enabling longer-term memory in our shared user embeddings or enabling the latest technologies and architectures in our ranking models.
  • Drive the Activation effort, which is our initiative to help users form lasting interests on YouTube. This includes working on models that spark new interests and increase those interests by predicting and encouraging re-engagement with new creators and topics.
  • Contribute to the strategy and execution for YouTube’s evolving recommendation systems.
