Description
About the role As a Product Marketing Designer, you will design visually compelling and high-converting digital marketing materials for mobile apps (think in-app banners, notification images), WhatsApp communications, and web platforms. You will work closely with our experienced Design Lead, contributing to both UI and UX design while gaining exposure to product design processes in a dynamic fintech environment. This is a high-impact role to drive user growth and engagement. Important: While the role is for a marketing designer, the ideal candidate would be someone who has mastered designing creatives for a digital marketing team and wants to move towards a Product UX/UI designer. We're looking for someone who wants to transition from marketing designer to product designer. Key responsibilities Spend 60% of your time designing high-quality marketing creatives to help product user growth. These creatives could be in-app banners, in-app cards, WhatsApp creatives, landing pages, and email/web assets that drive engagement and conversion. The rest of the time would be spent learning and contributing to UX/UI design for live features. Collaborate with Design Lead, product, marketing, and engineering to ensure consistency across product UI and growth/marketing touchpoints. Translate campaign briefs and product requirements into user-centric flows, wireframes, and polished visual assets for mobile and web. Contribute to and maintain the product design system (components, typography, colours) so marketing and product experiences feel cohesive. Run quick experiments on layouts, messaging hierarchy, and visuals to improve click-through, engagement, and in-app conversion metrics. Prepare design specs and assets for development and marketing teams, ensuring smooth handoff and high-quality implementation. Present and defend design decisions with clarity and confidence to peers and stakeholders. Requirements 4–5 years of experience in product marketing design, with at least one role in a fintech or consumer internet product company. Fintech startup experience is a strong plus. Ability to work in a remote environment with overlapping hours with the Eastern timezone. You’ll report to our Design lead based in India, but interact with product managers and marketing managers based in Toronto. Strong portfolio showcasing web and mobile work, especially in-app marketing, campaign landing pages, and/or WhatsApp/social creatives. Proficiency in Figma and willingness to use AI design tools, familiarity with illustration or motion is a plus. Comfort working with data and feedback to iterate quickly on designs in an agile, fast-paced environment. Decent understanding of UX fundamentals: information hierarchy, layout, responsive design, and accessibility for mobile-first products. Good communication skills and the ability to present design rationale clearly to stakeholders. What we offer Competitive salary + employee stock options in a growing company. Opportunity to work in a remote-first environment for a Canadian fintech start-up creating financial services for NRIs. Opportunity to work while being mentored across UI and UX, helping you grow into a well-rounded product designer. Exposure to end-to-end product development in a growing fintech, from idea to launch, across multiple channels (app, web, and messaging). A collaborative, ownership-driven environment with the freedom to experiment and directly see the impact of your work on key business metrics. How to apply Share your resume and portfolio (case studies that explain problem, process, and outcomes), highlighting fintech and marketing-design work. Links to Dribbble/Behance, live products, or Figma prototypes are highly encouraged.
Responsibilities
The Product Marketing Designer will spend 60% of their time creating high-quality marketing creatives to drive user growth and engagement. The remaining time will be dedicated to learning and contributing to UX/UI design for live features.
