Description
Education: Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s (4-year) degree in engineering or a related technical field. A degree in metallurgical/materials engineering is preferred. Experience: Minimum qualifications include one year of Logan Aluminum experience, and 3-5 years industry experience. The Logan service requirement may be waived with additional industry experience. Major Responsibilities: Expectation is that the incumbent will: * Possess experience in customer service and support. * Possess experience in process improvement. * Possess experience with various data collection and analysis systems. Necessary skills include: * Experience with applied statistics and associated software tools. * Experience with data collection, analysis, and SPC systems. * Experience in facilitation of problem-solving sessions. * A passion for excellence, and attention to detail * A commitment to the ISO methodology of plan, do, check, act * The ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, and to represent Logan Aluminum to customers, suppliers, and other business associates * The ability to work with minimal supervision. Position Accountabilities: * Work within the Logan Team Concept. * Establish cooperative relationships with Associates, customers, suppliers, and internal operating units. * Maintain responsibility for overall performance of assigned customer accounts. * Facilitate investigation and resolution of customer claims. * Monitor physical properties and other associated critical input and output variables for assigned customer accounts. * Lead efforts to resolve defects impacting assigned customer performance. * Provide routine analysis and reports regarding customer and process performance to a variety of internal and external stakeholders. * Plan and enter assigned customer trials. * Support overall plant-wide effort for continuous improvement. * Assist the organization in identifying further quality and process improvement opportunities. * Develop understanding of final customer processes, and how Logan products interact with those processes. * Support Logan physical test, metallurgical, and coating labs. Essential Physical, Sensory, and Mental Requirements: Will sit 3, stand 3, and walk 2 hrs. daily. Will stoop, climb, kneel, use ladders and stairs daily. Will lift no more than 50 lbs. Use computer & telephone daily. Time pressure is normal. Works on un-level, unstable, slippery surfaces. Good vision hearing & speaking necessary. Must read, write, measure, draw conclusions, create methods, conduct research, develop plans, direct others, evaluate others, and do difficult math. Will work indoors, outdoors, at a desk, and control room daily. Chemicals, vibration, extreme hot and cold, dust, dirt, fumes, and noise are typical daily surroundings.
