Description
Product Operations Lead (UK based) Summary of Position Pirum provides a comprehensive set of SaaS products to capital markets to support securities financing trading. Our product portfolio spans the full securities finance lifecycle — from trading through to collateral management, regulatory reporting, and post-trade services — serving major global lenders including G-SIBs. We are building a best-in-class Product Management function and are looking for a Product Operations Lead to act as the operational backbone of the Product team. This role is a force multiplier: you will own and enforce Pirum's Product Delivery Lifecycle (PDLC), build the metrics layer that drives accountability and predictability, and spearhead AI adoption across product workflows — enabling every Product Manager to operate at a higher standard, faster. This is a newly created role reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, working across all product streams (Collateral Management, Front Office Services, Fixed Income, Post Trade Services, Trade Connect, Corporate Actions, Data & AI, and future growth initiatives). Duties & Responsibilities Own the Product Operating Model End-to-End Design, implement, and continuously improve Pirum’s PDLC across Intake -> Triage -> Discovery -> Commit -> Delivery, ensuring consistent standards at every gate Enforce quality gates before work enters Engineering: standardised intake criteria, initiative templates, discovery quality checks, requirement completeness, and backlog hygiene Own and maintain the Client Commitment Register, ensuring no external commitment is made without PM + Engineering co-sign, and release readiness checklists Define and document key cross-functional processes: Deal Reviews, intra-quarter priority change control, Product Business Solutions handoffs Maintain and evolve the WSJF (Weighted Shortest Job First) prioritisation framework tooling and processes, ensuring all product streams score and rank work consistently using Business Value, Time Criticality, Risk Reduction and Effort dimensions Support the build and maintenance of the holistic internal roadmap, ensuring it is grounded in actual engineering capacity and that external client-facing roadmaps are traceable to it. Build the Metrics & Reporting Layer Define and report on Product health metrics including: delivery predictability, discovery quality, backlog hygiene, prioritisation discipline, client-commitment evidence, documentation completeness etc. Establish quarterly retrospective cadence: delivery vs plan analysis, root cause analysis for slippage, and continuous improvement actions Create dashboards and reporting that give the CPO, CTO, and senior leadership real-time visibility into product portfolio health, capacity utilisation, and delivery confidence Support investment governance by ensuring initiative templates capture RAG-rated confidence assessments Drive AI Transformation in Product Workflows Champion and accelerate PM adoption of AI tools across PDLC phases: voice-of-customer summarisation, automated intake parsing, backlog clustering and deduplication, AI-assisted WSJF scoring, PRD generation, edge-case identification, test-case generation, and rapid prototyping Build templates, and training materials that embed AI tooling (eg. Claude, Replit, Figma AI) into day-to-day PM workflows Measure and report on AI adoption and productivity impact across the Product team, iterating on tooling and approach based on outcomes Enable PM Team Effectiveness Act as the connective tissue across PMs – ensuring knowledge sharing, consistent craft standards, and operational alignment across all product streams Onboard new PMs into Pirum’s operating model, tools, and processes efficiently Manage and optimise the Product team’s tooling (Jira, Confluence etc.) to ensure backlogs, roadmaps, and documentation are well-structured and accessible Support quarterly and annual planning cycles: coordinate inputs from PMs, Business Solutions, and Engineering; produce consolidated views for CPO and leadership decision-making Skills, Knowledge & Attributes Product Ops/PMO expertise: 5+ years’ experience in Product Operations, R&D PMO, or a similar operating-model-focused role within an enterprise SaaS product company. Demonstrable track record of designing and embedding product processes that measurably improved delivery predictability and quality Prioritisation framework fluency: Hands-on experience implementing and running structured prioritisation methods (WSJF, RICE, or equivalent) across multiple product streams; ability to train and coach PMs on rigorous, evidence-based scoring Metrics & data-driven mindset: Strong analytical skills with experience defining product health KPIs, building dashboards, and using data to drive process improvement. Comfortable working with Jira data, delivery metrics, and portfolio-level reporting Financial services context (desirable): Familiarity with capital markets, securities financing, collateral management, or post-trade operations. AI tools & automation: Demonstrated competence in leveraging AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT/Claude etc.) to accelerate product workflows. Atlassian mastery: Deep proficiency with Jira and Confluence; experience structuring projects, workflows, custom fields, and dashboards to support a scalable product operating model. Experience with Jira Portfolio / Advanced Roadmaps or similar tools is desirable Cross-functional orchestration: Proven ability to work across Product, Engineering, Pre-sales, Customer Services, and Onboarding/Integration teams - building trust, enforcing process without bureaucracy, and driving alignment in multi-stakeholder environments Process design with pragmatism: Ability to build just enough process to create discipline without stifling speed, favouring practical, lightweight controls over heavy governance Communication & influence: Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present metrics, insights, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership and board-level audiences Self-motivated & autonomous: Takes ownership, drives initiatives forward independently, and holds self and others to high standards Agile delivery experience: Strong understanding of Agile practices, sprint planning, backlog management, and iterative delivery; experience partnering closely with Engineering Managers and Tech Leads About us Established in 2000, Pirum is a dynamic Fintech that provides a comprehensive set of SaaS based automation solutions facilitating pre-/post-trade processing, regulatory reporting and collateral management for the global securities finance industry.
