Role Overview: The Product Operations Leader will be accountable for functional, manufacturing, and broad company objectives. In this role you will drive FLIGHT DECK ( GE Aerospace’s Lean operating system) culture, manage complex manufacturing issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and be involved in both short and long-term planning to ensure the on-time delivery of new technologies. The charter for product operations is to ensure the manufacture and hardware delivery processes are established and work efficiently to ensure the intended schedule for a demo or test is met. Create and maintain a parts list and manufacture gate actions based on the hardware need date Establishing a strong engineering and sourcing rhythm at the working level to keep a check on the day to day work that needs to be accomplished Identify pressures to the plan from the LOB (line of balance) and weekly meetings to target and work opportunities to prevent a delay or pull in the target Provide pressure to plans to the Program / Systems teams regularly by feeding lead times estimated / committed by Design Engineering and suppliers into a database and then preparing right-to-left and left-to-right plans. Support the Program teams for CPD (Concurrent Product Development) decisions and long lead item identifications. Coordinate communication between Engineering and suppliers to make sure that Design and Manufacturing process flows align with each other without a significant waste and support each other with minimum time delays. Propose improvement ideas to reduce manufacturing cycle time by analyzing each production process step and critical to quality characteristics. Enable seamless communication between Sourcing and Engineering teams to eliminate risks associated with noncompliant supplier relations. Establish operational rhythm to keep track of the production status of each part in the part list and provide input to the Design daily management process. Provide operational leadership for assigned engine/component programs, using sound engineering and manufacturing principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. Translate program requirements (rate, configuration, milestones, customer commitments) into integrated manufacturing plans, including capacity, resources, and investment needs. Lead cross-functional Program Operations reviews with Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Materials, and Engineering, ensuring alignment on risks, constraints, and recovery plans. Coordinate and monitor rate readiness, NPI industrialization, and configuration changes across factories and suppliers to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption. Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, and Supplier Fulfillment to ensure processes, routings, and supplier capabilities are ready to support program ramps and design changes. Drive standard work and visual management for program execution (bowler charts, production control boards, tiered meetings), and escalate issues through the appropriate channels when needed. Monitor SQDC performance for assigned programs and lead structured problem-solving to address chronic issues (scrap/rework, escapes, recurring shortages, capacity bottlenecks). Participate as a presenter or reviewer in program, technical, and financial reviews, communicating clearly with program leaders, plant leadership, and customers (as applicable) to assure delivery of a quality product. Remain current in operations and program management practices related to new product introduction, rate changes, performance improvements, and cost-out opportunities. Serve as a key contributor in defining the manufacturing strategy and roadmap for assigned programs, including footprint, automation, and technology deployment. Partner with FLIGHT DECK leaders and Manufacturing teams to deploy lean tools and behaviors, driving flow, stability, and waste reduction across the value stream. Assure proper documentation of program risks, mitigations, and technical/operational data for assigned projects and tasks consistent with engineering, manufacturing, and program management policies and procedures. Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement across manufacturing sites and functions, reinforcing FLIGHT DECK as our operating system. Define the program plans and translate plans into requirements and milestones for the procurement and production of assigned hardware. You will create program/project milestone plans in support of the improvement projects you are leading and work collaboratively with the cross-functional team to execute the plans. Provide technical direction to a large design team for the RISE program, a revolutionary new engine concept with significant business impact, using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. Provide manufacturing consultation on manufacturing practices and standards, including initial development needs and cost predictions to aid in key strategic decisions. Participate in cross-functional team meetings including design engineering, quality, materials and manufacturing with a goal of defining requirements and standards for new designs. Work collaboratively with Design and Systems Engineering teams, production and global sites to formulate technical solutions that align with long term business objectives. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and a FLIGHT DECK mentality within the manufacturing organization. What You’ll Do Day-to-Day Lead daily/weekly operations reviews for your program scope, tracking SQDC metrics, identifying gaps, and assigning owners/actions. Align production plans and schedules with program demand, including managing changes in rate, mix, and configuration; ensure plans are reflected in MRP/ERP Work with Manufacturing, Materials, and Supplier Fulfillment to protect build plans, resolve shortages, and manage recovery plans for critical hardware. Coordinate NPI / NTI (New product /New technology introductions) builds, engineering changes, and configuration transitions in the factory, ensuring readiness of tools, routings, documentation, and training. Run trade studies and scenario analyses (rate ramp options, insource/outsource, capacity investments) to support program and site decision-making. Communicate program operations status and risks to leadership through concise updates, dashboards, and standard reporting; ensure issues are escalated early with clear recovery plans. Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to close the loop on nonconformances and escapes, ensuring robust corrective actions and lessons learned are embedded in standard work. The Ideal Candidate: is a results-driven manufacturing/program operations leader with a Bachelor’s (or higher) in Manufacturing/Engineering and proven experience leading factory operations, production control, and cross-functional execution in a regulated industry, ensuring on-time hardware delivery through disciplined planning and risk management. They bring strong technical fluency (drawing review, GD&T, aerospace manufacturing specifications, and ideally high-precision turbomachinery hardware ownership) and the ability to influence in a matrix organization. They are a transparent, analytical problem-solver who drives continuous improvement and standard work, leveraging lean/FLIGHT DECK behaviors to improve SQDC performance. Required Characteristics: Bachelor's or advanced degree in Manufacturing or Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited University. Relevant experience in manufacturing operations, program management, or product line leadership in regulated industries (aerospace, defense/space, automotive, medical devices, or similar), including demonstrated working experience in Factory operations, production control, or value stream leadership, coordination of cross-functional program activities (NPI, rate ramps, configuration changes). Preferred Qualifications: Experience in development hardware ownership and manufacturing of high-precision, turbomachinery components. Strong aptitude in mechanical design, ability to review drawings, understand Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and Product Definition, including reading and interpreting drawings. Experience with Aerospace manufacturing specifications Working experience with GE Aerospace quality system Strong influencing skills, including guiding others without a direct reporting relationship. Ability to execute new and unclear requirements & goals Ability to work in a matrix organization Ability to effectively manage changing and conflicting priorities and resolve appropriately Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
