About the role
6 Month Fixed Term Contract
AGL’s Electrification & Innovation (E&I) business drives Australia’s shift to a cleaner energy future by rapidly developing scalable, sustainable electrification products. We continuously enhance our offerings while incubating new ideas that can transform how Australians live for generations.
As Product Owner, you’ll incubate and scale a product in line with AGL’s strategy and commitments. You’ll manage the product backlog, translate customer and market insights into deliverables, and oversee multiple initiatives with support from a cross-functional squad and dedicated Business Analysts. Strong knowledge of the product and Australia’s energy system is essential.
This role sits within an E&I value stream focused on developing and scaling products that help customers decarbonise their homes and lifestyles.

What you’ll be doing:

• Own Product Delivery – Take full accountability for delivering outcomes aligned with the product roadmap and value stream OKRs.
• Shape the Strategy – Build and maintain product roadmaps that align with AGL’s goals and evolving market demands.
• Customer-Centric Innovation – Turn customer feedback, market research, and performance data into actionable improvements, driving continuous innovation and product growth.
• Lead and Inspire Teams – Collaborate with cross-functional squads, guide Business Analysts, and coach direct reports to foster a high-performing, innovative team culture.
• Engage Stakeholders – Manage and grow relationships with external partners to strengthen product success and market impact.

About you:

• Previous demonstrated experience as a Product Owner with successful oversight of multiple product initiatives.
• Strong business modelling skills, capable of translating concepts into practical and scalable strategies.
• Exceptional leadership and collaboration abilities, fostering a cohesive and innovative team environment.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools, ensuring effective backlog management and sprint planning.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling clear articulation of product visions and objectives.
