Job Description: One Sun Financial Planning delivers financial planning capabilities to all Canadians using technology to enable a brighter financial future for our Clients. The Digital Platform team is looking for a Product Owner to lead the delivery team that’s integrating digital financial planning into our web and mobile platforms. This role will work closely with our partners across multiple business units to ensure delivery priorities align with the financial planning program’s over-arching objectives and the needs of our Clients. This role is responsible for all facets of the preparedness, execution, change management and overall success management of the features that are implemented as part of the agile team’s development. What will you do? Collaborate with One Sun Financial Planning program stakeholders to ensure digital products align with the program’s strategy and requirements Integrate your team’s delivery into the broader program delivery schedule, identify interdependencies inside and outside of the program and set a clear path forward for the team on an ongoing basis. Setting an ambitious and clear vision for each feature that aligns to the overall journey vision and communicate that vision effectively to stakeholders, your team, and the organization Work closely with business leaders to establish each feature’s business value, and support messaging communication and customer outreach as necessary Prioritize and manage items in the back-log that allow you to maintain a back-log that is continuously one quarter ahead of the team Use market and industry knowledge to translate user needs into user stories and acceptance criteria for the team Determine end-to-end team output strategy from inception to production Be accountable for product specific OKRs and communicate progress to stakeholders Stay at leading edge of existing market solutions/components being able to identify how they can transform our experiences. Be an advocate for simplicity of design and development, to deliver to market as effectively and efficiently as possible. Oversee all required changes to the platform, including regular operational updates and maintenance, by implementing timelines, tracking, and closely overseeing risks and dependencies. Support regular governance reviews of the platform and vendor relationship, including completing intakes and attending enterprise governance touchpoints with stakeholders Monitor already launched digital assets and determine how to optimize their performance, by developing a framework to measure impact of improvements. Identify experimentation opportunities and propose test and learns. What you need to succeed? Experience using development methodologies, particularly agile development Effective at influencing others in supporting product direction to push an end solution forward Strong communication skills and comfortable speaking with business stakeholders Able to navigate a large organization at a senior level Ability to collaborate and make decisions effectively with Technical Leads and Scrum Masters Skilled in handling change management Excellent ability to problem solve and analyze options to arrive at the best solution Able to empower others to fail, learn, and grow Encouraging experimental mindsets to drive innovation University degree in Marketing, Business or Information Technologies What will be nice to have? Strategic experience with a focus on business model evolution. Sound understanding of financial planning and time value of money concepts.
