THIS IS A FIXED TERM APPOINTMENT FOR 12 MONTHS

LSE’s Communication Division leads and coordinates internal and external communications for the School and offers communication advice, training and support. We aim to meet the needs and expectations of our users with digital products that enhance and streamline the organisational experience of being at LSE.
One major project to achieve this is a new internal intranet-portal, creating a single, digital entry point for students and staff to access personalised communications, information, resources, and tools whilst also supporting a joined-up user experience with various back-end systems as far as possible.
The Product Owner will lead a cross-functional project team to implement the chosen technology solution over a 12-month period. They will oversee turning the project vision and direction into a well-designed and delivered platform, including both desktop and mobile solutions, and ensuring excellent user experience remains at the product’s core.
The Product Owner will take overall leadership of the project, leading and defining the roadmap and release of the product alongside key functions such as managing project milestones, owning and prioritising the backlog, and creating and updating the product roadmap. They will provide strategic expertise in user research and experience, working closely in partnership with the selected vendor, various third-party agencies as well as collaboratively across LSE, and within Communications Division.

You will have:

  • Experience leading major greenfield projects in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Familiarity with web technologies and Digital Experience Platforms (DXPs) in particular. Understanding of how to ensure functionality, reliability, data integrity and security within such platforms. Ability to have productive discussions with technical teams and understand technical estimates, implications, and trade-offs.
  • Ensuring an excellent end-to-end customer experience through a close and healthy relationship with external partners and the project team. Be the path of escalation for incidents and stakeholder concerns. Work closely with technical colleagues to manage and continuously improve the service.Leading and empowering cross-functional teams, creating a cohesive, motivating working culture through
