Description

About this job

We are Bela-IT, the technological backbone of the Bartels-Langness Group. With around 160 employees, we are one of the company's largest departments and work in our own IT building in Kiel. Here, we operate, among other things, two of our own data centers and develop, design, and program the IT landscape for the entire group.

We are creative minds, organizational talents, and visionaries, but also developers, innovators, and IT experts. We work with a genuine hands-on mentality, exchange ideas openly, and cultivate team spirit, respect, and mutual appreciation. An open feedback culture is particularly important to us. For us, it's not just about resumes, but above all about motivation, practical experience, and a passion for technology.

We, the BELA IT department, are part of the Bartels-Langness Group, an owner-managed family business based in Kiel. Whether it's groceries, wine, pet food, or baked goods – retail is our business. We are an expanding, dynamic company and place great value on a friendly atmosphere and a positive work environment. Our strong corporate group includes famila, Markant, and Das Futterhaus supermarkets, as well as bakery branches and a high-performing wholesale business serving various retail sectors. With over 18,000 employees, we are one of the largest employers in Northern Germany.

To strengthen our team at our location in Kiel, we are looking for a Product Owner (m/f/d) POS as soon as possible.

What you will be doing with us:

  • Responsibility for our POS product range, from cash register and merchandise management to cash management
  • Further development of our products and solutions to meet the demands of modern commerce
  • Managing the product roadmap and setting the right priorities
  • Translating customer needs and market requirements into innovative, practical solutions
  • Collaboration with development and specialist departments for the successful implementation of new features and products
  • Connecting business, technology and customer value
  • Identification and implementation of new product potential
  • Support from the initial idea to a successful rollout

Features that excite us:

  • Product focus: You have experience as a Product Owner or in product management, ideally in the areas of POS, cash register, merchandise management or cash management.
  • Understanding trade: You know the processes in trade and understand what is behind merchandise management, checkout processes, payment processes and cash management.
  • Customer focus: They think from the perspective of the users and develop solutions that are not only innovative, but above all practical and customer-oriented.
  • Roadmap under control: You can assess requirements, prioritize topics, and manage a product roadmap with a focus on customer benefits, market demands, and company goals.
  • Team players with interface functions: They bring together development, specialist departments and other stakeholders and ensure that ideas become concrete solutions.
  • Courage to take initiative: You enjoy developing products further, driving new ideas forward and creating visible improvements for our customers and the trade.
  • Qualifications: A completed degree, commercial or technical training, or a comparable qualification forms the basis for your career with us.

This is what's in our program:

  • Flexible working hours: within a 38.5-hour week
  • Relaxing breaks: 30 days of vacation per year
  • Additional compensation: Christmas and holiday pay
  • Secure job: permanent employment in a family-run company since 1892
  • Your career – your direction: Individual training opportunities that allow you to develop professionally and personally.
  • Fit and mobile: Whether exploring the city on two wheels with bike leasing or heading to your next workout with Hansefit – your health and mobility are important to us.
