Rothe is seeking a Product Owner for the Applications and Platform Services (APS) Service Line in support of the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency’s enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical communications through the use of the internet, digital platforms, and IT management for NASA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM). From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing NASA TV segments, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA’s message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA’s communication to the outside world. JOB DESCRIPTION

Serve as the Product Owner within APS Shared Services, Agile Release Train (ART) throughout all stages of the product life cycle; Introduction, Growth, Maturity, and Decline. Work closely with business owners, customers, stakeholders, system architects, product management team, and others ensuring business value, and aligning outcomes. Identify problems to be solved, guide story creation ensuring they are aligned with product strategy, assist with ART backlog prioritization, communicate the roadmap during PI Planning, and accept stories. Continually evaluate progress toward story acceptance criteria and value delivered from the backlog. Participate in iteration planning, backlog refinement, iteration reviews, team retrospectives, and team sync meeting.
Remote, hybrid, and onsite positions the employee bears travel costs to nearest NASA Center for badging and issue of NASA IT equipment.

EDUCATION

BA/BS degree and 8 years relevant experience as a Product Owner. Previous experience performing as a Product Owner across multiple teams within the Agile Release Train (ART). Minimum 5 years’ experience utilizing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

EXPERIENCE

  • Provide outstanding communication to Product Management, customers, stakeholders, and all other members of the ART.
  • Extremely organized with excellent time-management skills.
  • Highly motivated and able to shift gears rapidly and frequently as needed or as dictated by the customer.
  • Must be process oriented and able to adhere to defined procedural guidance.
  • Must have initiative and ability to drive projects to success and prioritize multiple high-visibility tasks.
  • Able to tailor technical communications, both verbally and written to audiences possessing a varying degree of IT experience and knowledge.
  • Must work well both independently and with various stakeholders from other NASA Programs/Organizations including contractors from eMITS and other contracts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certified SAFe Practitioner.
  • Certified SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager.
  • Familiarity with System Applications and Products (SAP). 3-5 years of experience serving in the Product Manager or a Product Manager support role.
  • Familiarity with Power Automate tools, Jira, PI Planning.io, Mural, and Jira Align.
    Very experienced with advanced utilization of various Microsoft applications such as Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft 365.

  • Previous experience with NASA.
