Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • As the Product Owner, you are a creative problem-solver with a passion for the health of Canadians and delivering top notch customer facing applications. You will work closely with our Specialty Health Network and Digital Health teams to collect business requirements, define solutions and facilitate communication.The Product Owner will demonstrate strong business analysis skills and technical savvy. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the enterprise to define the value of product MVPs and own definition of user stories.

  • Be responsible for the product backlog including daily prioritization, grooming, writing user stories and generally keeping the dev team unblocked and running as fast as possible
  • Understand user problems and translate them into clear technical specifications for our development teams
  • Critically assess feature requests and requirements to eliminate the non-essential


    • Conduct regular feedback sessions to ensure we are prioritizing the features that deliver the most value to the business

    • Executes all relevant deliverables related SHNs digital health strategy, and actively participates in all related meetings
    • Participates on the programs lead meetings and supports/leads project-based work, as appropriate
    • Contributes to the design of the solution while working with various subject matter experts and ensures strategic alignment with SHNs vision, while building a digital health playbook
    • Engages with stakeholders to ensure diverse perspective and voice is included in all efforts
    • Thoroughly understand the end-to-end customer experience and strive to improve the experience across all aspects of the journey
    • Develop and continuously iterate on the digital strategy, vision and roadmap enabling the business teams to drive their P&L goals
    • Run feature prioritization sessions and work closely with design and development teams to bring features to market while ensuring feasibility, built-in quality and milestones are met
    • Continuously measure core success metrics and identify opportunities to iterate and improve features and offerings
    • Prioritizing and handling multiple tasks, including researching and analyzing pertinent client, industry, and technical matters and utilizing problem-solving skills.
    • Works with SHN and LCL stakeholders to identify and support opportunities to integrate and streamline digital health strategies and solutions to support improved efficiency, value, and colleague/patient/provider experience
    • Facilitates sharing of local best or leading practices to support spread, scale, and integration of successful digital/virtual initiatives
    • Participate in collecting feedback from users and translating these findings into product development
    • Promote Agile & Product best practices as well as becoming a customer champion

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THIS ROLE:

    • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives.
    • A curiosity for modern technology and learning how it can enable businesses and organizations to deliver better and differently.
    • Relevant experience, either from consulting & professional services or in an industry role. Strong communication, presentation and writing skills.
    • Experience in one or many of the following: Technology and IT operating models IT governance models and processes IT strategic sourcing IT architecture and design, including information management, infrastructure and applications Agile software development and implementation processes and tools Scrum Master (and other agile certifications), PMP, ITIL, TOGAF, and other related technology certifications would be an asset.
    • A solid understanding of product management principles and a set of tried & true methodologies Ability to help others think critically and share complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences both orally and in writing
