We are looking for a Product QA Engineer to help ensure our Health experience is rock-solid and customer-focused. We're looking for detail oriented, critical thinkers who would like to play a key role qualifying important software and the frameworks that support it during all stages of software development. We practice nimble, fast-paced development that relies heavily on a tight relationship between Engineering, Project Management, and QA. DESCRIPTION As a Quality Assurance Engineer you’ll have the opportunity to uphold the integrity of our systems through rigorous testings, detailed documentation, strict adherence to established protocols and regulatory standards as well as have a direct hand in crafting the next advancements in Apple’s health software ecosystem. We work on the Health app — a platform for Health and Fitness efforts across Apple — as well as the Research App and related experiences that broaden the definition of what our platform can do. You will work with experienced engineers, designers, as well as clinical and regulatory experts to qualify and refine features that delight users as well as form a solid technical foundation for future development. In this position, you will need to possess a strong understanding of QA methodologies, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks in a compliant framework. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 2+ years of experience working in software Quality Assurance on iOS or similar Proficient in English both oral and written Experience in Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) development with exposure to regulatory and quality systems, including design controls, risk management, and verification/validation activities. Independent thinker with the ability to proactively triage, investigate, and debug difficult technical and UX problems autonomously as well as collaboratively Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate close interaction with development teams, management, and other organizations within Apple Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes, including experience with both manual and automated testing. Competency in shell/CLI methodology, version control system such as Git Proficiency in defect tracking systems and test management tools. Comfortable working in a distributed, global team environment spanning multiple time zones. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working in a highly regulated industry Foundational knowledge of audio concepts including acoustic signals, amplitude/frequency, distortions, etc. Experience participating in regulatory audits or inspections Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or XCTest A passion for health and health-related technology
