Product Operations are looking for a talented, passionate, self-motivated and hard-working Product Quality Engineer (PQE) to be part of a diverse, dynamic and high-energy team. We work in a highly complex, dynamic and multi-functional environment where we strive to consistently exceed customer expectations. You will be capable to lead and drive Quality initiatives and projects across multiple Lines of Business and Vendors. You will be capable of setting up and managing Vendor Quality management systems across different supply chains. The role will involve working across a range of functions in both Operations and Engineering and will also involve working closely with European, US and Asia based Technical and Quality teams. This role will be based in Munich Germany.

DESCRIPTION

On this role you will work closely with other Apple Technical and Quality teams to drive and manage Quality at key Supplier Sites. As a Quality subject matter expert you will work at both a hands-on technical level and at a strategic level. You will have the ability to work with and drive Supplier Technical and Quality resources to drive the best Quality outcomes for Apple. Key Tasks: - Lead all Quality readiness aspects for a complex program / project - Develop and Implement Product Quality plans for new Products or Projects - Ensure lessons learned from prior projects are used to improve the quality management process, and lead to improved product quality and reliability - Be responsible for implementing quality systems and following through on improvements and corrective actions - Develop and implement groundbreaking quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics - Compile and evaluate data to figure out appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications - Work with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product - Coordinate all Quality Engineering functions for a program, serving as project manager to lead efforts at supplier locations - Support Failure Analysis & Corrective Actions with cross functional teams - Includes Design of experiments, data analysis, etc. - Oversee and implement incoming material quality, product in process quality and product outgoing quality controls and systems - Manage supplier yield and work to close all open quality issues - Monitor supply chain and Field quality and investigate / resolve any open issues

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors or Master degree qualification with demonstrated ability in a Technical or Engineering discipline
  • Proven experience of managing and driving Quality in a consumer Product quality area.
  • High Technical ability
  • Proven experience of managing Vendor Quality and managing quality across supply chains

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations. An area of expertise such as a specific process, material or industry is key to show depth of knowledge base.
  • Project management experience and an ability to project manage all aspects of a complex quality project. Experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Has strong leadership skills and can lead and motivate other individuals.
  • Experience in Product and Process validation including FMEA, DOE, Statistical analysis etc.
  • Ability to understand and interpret Quality specifications and Technical drawings.
  • People management experience.
  • Quality specific qualifications.
  • Competency in Statistical analysis and data managementWillingness and availability to travel as required
