Description Product Safety and Regulatory Compliance Specialist Gordini USA Inc. is a manufacturer and distributor of gloves, mittens, socks, goggles, and base layer for both our brand and private-label. We are also Carhartt's licensee for gloves, base layer, boxer briefs, socks, sun protection, knee protection, and eye protection. We are a growing company looking for a compliance manager to join our team. This role ensures that our products meet global safety and regulatory requirements for the glove division, including brands such as Gordini, Carhartt, and Kombi, as well as working with the team for all product categories. This includes overseeing testing programs, documentation, and supplier compliance, while actively monitoring evolving regulations and guiding product development teams to ensure alignment. The position plays a critical role in safeguarding brand integrity. Duties and Responsibilities: Manage testing protocol updates with third-party labs and document new product- or country-specific requirements. Implement updates based on emerging risks and evolving standards, and lead internal communication and training on changes. Maintain the Restricted Substances List (RSL) from regulatory bodies such as AAFA, AFIRM, OEKO-TEX, and Prop65. Ensure that all necessary components of each glove style are tested appropriately according to protocol. Maintain files of all test reports by factory / brand / style. Evaluate failed third-party test reports and coordinate follow-up and/or resolution with team members / suppliers. Support root cause analysis and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans for repeated testing failures. Monitor industry newsletters, events, and regulatory updates to identify changes in product safety and compliance requirements. Attend AAFA Safety Committee meetings and other relevant webinars. Monitor global market regulations to ensure compliance with country-specific safety standards (e.g., REACH, CPSIA, AAFA Standards). Serve as primary compliance contact for internal team and factories regarding regulatory compliance requirements and product safety standards. Update and communicate with compliance team members across all divisions to ensure RSL compliance. Review third-party lab invoices to ensure accurate processing. Track testing costs each season and compare to previous seasons. Act as the regulatory subject-matter expert in seasonal line reviews and innovation sessions to flag risks early and influence decision-making. Maintain awareness of pending legislation that could impact product compliance. Prepare proper certificates of compliance as requested and for use in e-filing. Qualifications: Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Business, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience and Skills 5+ years’ experience in product safety and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting. (Experience in the apparel industry is a plus.) Strong understanding of product lifecycle and how compliance, sourcing, and quality intersect. Experience working with regulatory authorities, standards bodies, or compliance associations. Ability to review product tech packs for details. Skilled at analyzing lab results, identifying risks, and performing root cause analysis. Knowledge of chemistry, chemical testing, and standards is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and urgency. Ability to manage shifting priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment. This can be a remote position with some travel to headquarters in Vermont as needed.
