Description

As a fast-paced organisation with over 1000 sites, Asda’s product safety programme is continually evolving. The business has ambitious plans for growth and embraces new ideas and innovation to support operational teams to succeed. As part of the Product Safety team, you will be supporting the business to effectively manage requirements across all of our sites in conjunction with key business partners.

  • Support Product Safety Managers to develop and implement product safety policy, process and operational ways of working for our non-food business; George, Non-edible Grocery and General Merchandise.
  • Manage legal due diligence programmes for timber product and chemical product.
  • Managing the horizon scanning programme:
  • Track regulatory & market changes in the UK & EU.
  • Prepare and deliver regular training and insight sessions to business partners ensuring they are engaged, and requirements are understood.
  • Support for ad-hoc/seasonal projects as directed.
  • Tracking, monitoring and reporting on escalated & serious customer incidents taking ownership end-to-end.
  • Utilising a Risk Assessment tool to support potential product issues and product withdrawals & recalls.
  • External liaison with suppliers, including testing laboratories, external regulators (including Primary Authority), and suppliers
  • Coordination of compliance notifications as directed by Product Safety Manager
  • Prepare, write and present presentations / reports (e.g. supplier adherence to standards)
  • Manage some elements of the activity and communication plan with the creation of meaningful awareness campaigns.
  • Manage the Product Safety and Product Withdrawal Inbox to support key stakeholders and business partners with general queries, enforcement contacts, complaints and the wider team with any admin tasks. Aligned to this, the ability to create and follow processes accurately to ensure consistency within the team.
  • Ability to manage action plans, reporting and site queries.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Suite with ability to analyse data and present findings.
  • Preferred knowledge of SAP to enable support with financial admin and queries

  • This role requires a degree of autonomy and ‘can do’, but will be guided by the Product Safety Manager, and the Food Safety and Product Safety Senior Manager in the team.
  • Able to travel to sites as required as part of projects/key workstreams.
