We are hiring! Our Sales team at Ingersoll Rand’s Precision Technologies division is growing. We’re hiring a Product Specialist to support our Ingersoll Rand, MP and Oberdorfer Pumps business units at Ingersoll Rand.
LOCATION: Remote, Germany

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Product Specialist is an individual contributor within the global Product Management function. The position will be responsible for supporting the pre- and post-sales processes to accelerate growth of the IRP, MP and OB positive displacement pump product lines across diverse segments (including but not limited to chemical and petrochemical transfer, transportation, energy, construction and mining equipment, agriculture, marine and industrial markets). The Product Specialist is responsible for helping develop our product strategy and driving the tactical execution of various commercial programs to aggressively grow sales.
The successful candidate is a collaborative, self-motivated and assertive team member, acting as trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to quickly and accurately implement various commercial strategies.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related degree.
  • Proven experience in product management support, marketing, or related roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in a B2B technical or commercial function is highly desired.
  • Proficiency in a variety of software programs including Microsoft Office, CRM and ERP software required.

KEY COMPETENCIES AND FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:

  • Product Knowledge: Possess and/or acquire gear and centrifugal pump technology knowledge.
  • Product lifecycle management: Possess or acquire skills and knowledge of product management processes (from ideation to discontinuation) and proficient in market research and analysis tools
  • Technical Sales: Uses technical knowledge to assess the potential application of company products, recommending solutions that meet customer needs, and advance the sales process.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Effective communication with various stakeholders on a technical level, including Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, Quality, Project Team, and top management. Must be skilled at working closely with customers in their development/validation processes and guide pump specification and selection process favorably.

Responsibilities
  • Pricing and Discount Management:
  • Set and manage product prices and discounts in alignment with market trends and company objectives.
  • Analyze pricing strategies to maximize profitability while remaining competitive.
  • Marketing and Demand Generation Support:
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute effective marketing campaigns.
  • Develop compelling marketing content, including product collateral, whitepapers, and presentations.
  • Product Management:
  • Define the product strategy and roadmap of our product portfolio, ensuring alignment with market demands and company goals.
  • Collect and summarize customer feedback, market research, and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities and inform product development and enhancement efforts.
  • Create detailed Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs) to guide the product development process, outlining features, specifications, and user requirements.
  • Create and maintain product documentation, such as product requirements, user stories, and release notes.
  • Analyze product performance and sales metrics to inform future development and marketing strategies.
  • Liaise with manufacturing and supply chain to forecast and manage product inventory levels.
  • Advanced Product Technical Support:
  • Provide advanced technical support to customers and partners, addressing complex product inquiries and issues.
  • Provide training, presentations, and support to the sales team customers as needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for product-related technical matters.
  • Sales Tool Optimization:
  • Develop and optimize sales tools and resources to empower the sales team, improve productivity, and accelerate revenue growth.
