JOB SUMMARY

Riva Foods are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Product Specification Technologist to join our Technical team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our processes. The Technologist will work collaboratively with various departments to implement solutions that enhance operational effectiveness.
As a Specification Technologist, your key focus will be to ensure that all customer specifications, pack copies, artwork and other ancillary documents, such as labels and factory QAS, are accurately set up and maintained. You will ensure that all necessary customer documentation is produced to meet Critical Path timescales and launch deadlines, and that all areas are accurate, legally compliant and in line with customer labelling policies. You will need to build strong relationships with both customers and suppliers and help ensure that approved suppliers and raw materials meet all technical, legal and customer standards, and have a keen eye for detail.

KEY PERSONAL SKILLS :

• Excellent communication and organisation skills are vital, and you must be comfortable dealing with a wide range of people, at all levels, both internal and external.
• IT competent in a range of software packages, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
• Able to successfully manage multiple tasks, often with conflicting priorities, and deliver results to strict deadlines.
• Able to transfer data accurately and clearly into the specification from supplier specifications, information and data provided.
• Ability to work proactively, independently, and collaboratively, dependent upon the needs of the project.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to proof read, and to obtain colleague opinions, as required, whilst adopting a “Right First Time” attitude to all tasks.
• Flexible approach to adapt to changing regulatory requirements and operational needs.
• Hands-on, solution focused approach to resolving issues.

KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

• 1 – 2 years experience in the food industry.
• Experience of working within a similar role within food manufacturing.
• Knowledge of specification completion for retailers.
• Good working knowledge of food and drink labelling regulations is required. Evidence of formal training in this area would be beneficial.
• HACCP and Food Safety Level 3.
• Familiarity with all requirements of TACCP / VACCP systems.
