Position Overview:
The Product Validation Engineer will be involved in the design support and validation of energy storage and power conversion products. This includes developing and executing validation plans, building test setups, assembling prototypes, and contributing to product design. The role also involves hands-on work in the R&D labs at Navico Group.

Essential Functions:

  • Active participation in the full product development cycle at Navico Group, with a focus on product validation, ranging from high-level black-box testing to in-depth electronic component-level analysis.
  • Participating in project and team meetings, discussions, and design reviews to contribute insights.
  • Designing and constructing test setups for electronic equipment testing, such as batteries, chargers, inverters, general power converters and systems.
  • Developing test plans, outlining test procedures and expected outcomes.
  • Executing tests manually or using automated systems at various levels and reviewing outcomes.
  • Documenting validation and design procedures, results, and observations in detailed reports.
  • Assembling small prototype series and soldering electronic components and printed circuit boards.
  • Engage in product support and sustain activities to improve products based on feedback from various stake holders.

Required Qualifications:

  • General electrical and electronics know-how.
  • Familiarity with energy storage and power conversion components and products.
  • Hands-on experience in electronics laboratory environments, including building and configuring test setups, assembling small prototype series, and soldering electronic components.
  • Good knowledge of test and measurement equipment, such as oscilloscopes, function generators, and power supplies.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in electronics and testing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Comfortable working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, located all over the world.
  • Good command of technical English, both written and spoken.

Working Conditions:

  • The position is based in Amsterdam with the possibility of occasional travel to other Navico Group facilities or client sites for validation and testing purposes.
  • The role will involve working in a laboratory environment.
  • The position requires regular communication and collaboration with R&D engineers, product managers, and external suppliers.
  • This is a hybrid role with a 3 day a week onsite requirement.
