Position Summary: The Production & Inventory Control III develops material requirements plans, generates manufactured product routings, reviews job status, and evaluates progress on production work. Develops and manages detailed schedules for specific programs to meet established customer goals. They monitor workflow, as well as material movement in production cycles to ensure continual operations. They focus on short to medium term operations and oversight for running a smooth and efficient facility and ensuring a safe environment and quality control. Key Results Areas: Regulate and optimize production flow in the manufacturing process from raw material to finished product. Coordinate with planning on what parts are needed to run and when. Release shop route cards to the manufacturing floor based on material requirements planning (MRP) schedule. Coordinate with department supervisors to set machine loading priorities and determine progress of work. Coordinate with Shop Expeditor to ensure materials are staged / moved prior to start of operation. Maintain and communicate schedule priorities and status to shop floor and production planners. Utilize lean manufacturing principles to optimize production machines/cells to further improve production up-time, quality, and cost. Determine improved economic production runs to reduce setup costs. Participate in improvement projects aimed at reducing costs, downtime reduction, lead-time reduction, etc. Maintain inventory of materials and parts needed to complete production. Order necessary parts and account for delivery lead time to ensure no machine downtime. Monitor work in progress (WIP) queues and analyze feedback from the shop floor to take corrective action as required. Monitor discrepant inventory and take corrective action as required. Compile reports concerning progress of work and downtime due to failures of machines and equipment to apprise production planning personnel of production delays. Assists in the development of Production and Inventory Control (PIC) programs policies and plans and assists in the implementation of approved systems. Requirements Qualifications: To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience and abilities required. Education and Training Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Project Management or equivalent combination of education and experience ASCRM CPIM training or certification preferred Experience: Four years of production planning experience in a low volume manufacturing environment. Other: Must be willing to work overtime as required. Travel up to 10% of working time. Desired Job Qualification: ISO/AS quality system experience desired. Compensation and Benefits: The salary range for this role is $75,000-$90,000. This range represent the anticipated minimum and maximum base + bonus for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate.
