Description We are seeking a Production & Supply Chain Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations and own the end-to-end flow of material through our aerospace production environment. This role is critical to scaling from engineering builds to repeatable, AS9100-compliant production—without sacrificing speed, agility, or technical rigor. You will be responsible for setting up and optimizing the production floor, supervising and developing technicians, and working closely with Program Managers (PMs) to translate program schedules and forecasts into executable production and supply chain plans. This role sits at the intersection of production execution, MRP discipline, supplier management, and quality. What You Will Do Production Floor Leadership & Execution Lead and supervise manufacturing and production technicians, providing clear direction, priorities, and daily execution oversight Establish and continuously improve production floor layout, workflows, tooling, and work instructions to support safe, efficient, and repeatable builds Own daily production scheduling and execution, ensuring labor, materials, and equipment are aligned to plan Identify bottlenecks, constraints, and inefficiencies; drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives Ensure production activities are performed in compliance with AS9100, quality procedures, and configuration control requirements Technician Oversight & Training Develop, train, and mentor technicians to ensure consistent workmanship, quality awareness, and adherence to documented processes Support onboarding and qualification of new technicians as production scales Reinforce a culture of accountability, workmanship, and continuous improvement on the production floor Program & MRP Integration Partner closely with Program Managers to understand program schedules, demand forecasts, and contractual deliverables Identify critical path parts, long-lead items, and high-risk components early in the program lifecycle Ensure all production and purchased parts are properly structured, released, and maintained in the MRP/ERP system Translate program forecasts into material demand plans, build plans, and supplier orders Continuously align production execution and procurement activity to the approved forecast and program baseline Monitor work order performance and address shortfalls and issues Supply Chain & Supplier Management Work directly with suppliers to place orders, manage lead times, and resolve delivery or quality issues Support supplier identification, qualification, and onboarding in accordance with AS9100 and internal quality requirements Monitor supplier performance (delivery, quality, responsiveness) and drive corrective actions as needed Ensure supplier quality requirements, documentation, and traceability expectations are clearly defined and met Collaborate with Quality to manage supplier nonconformances and corrective actions Cross-Functional Coordination & Reporting Partner with Engineering, Quality, Programs, and Operations to ensure smooth handoffs from design to production Track and report production status, material readiness, and risks to leadership Proactively surface schedule, supply, or capacity risks and recommend mitigation plans Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience 5+ years of experience in production, manufacturing, or supply chain roles Demonstrated experience leading or supervising production teams or technicians Strong working knowledge of production planning, inventory control, and material flow Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Clear communicator capable of working across technical, operational, and program teams Preferred Qualifications Experience in aerospace, defense, or other AS9100 / ISO-regulated manufacturing environments Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, etc.) Experience standing up or scaling a production floor from prototype to low-rate or full-rate production Background in supplier qualification, supplier quality, and supply chain risk management Familiarity with configuration management, traceability, and production documentation in regulated environments
