Description:
A Production Artist is responsible for the creation, preparation, and finalization of visual assets for print, digital, and other media formats. This role typically works closely with graphic designers, print shop supervisor, and other creative professionals to ensure that designs are executed accurately and efficiently according to project specifications.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors in layouts or designs.
- Knowledge of print production processes and requirements (e.g., color modes, DPI, bleed areas).
- Experience with digital production standards for web and mobile platforms.
- Good communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in file management and versioning systems.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field is often preferred.
- Experience in a production-focused role or in-house design team is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:
- Design Support: Assist designers by preparing and modifying files for production, ensuring designs are consistent with the original concept.
- File Preparation: Convert designs into formats suitable for various outputs, such as digital files for web and mobile, or print-ready files for brochures, posters, and packaging.
- Proofing and Quality Control: Review designs for errors, inconsistencies, and ensure they meet project specifications. Correct issues such as color discrepancies, font alignment, or layout problems.
- File Management: Organize and maintain the file system, ensuring that all assets are named, saved, and archived properly for easy retrieval.
- Pre-Press Coordination: Work with print vendors and external partners to ensure that final production files are compatible with printing and production processes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other creative team members, including graphic designers to ensure that all design assets are delivered on time and within project scope.
- Versioning and Adaptations: Make necessary adjustments to designs for different formats or platforms, such as resizing for web or changing layouts for different print sizes.
- Deadline Management: Ensure that all designs and production tasks are completed within specified timelines and that all deadlines are met.
