Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Assistant is responsible for assisting in the production of meal packaging for the Kids Café in the Keegan Kitchen. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean/safe work environment, in compliance with all state, local, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) policies, practices, and procedures. This role is required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Adhere to PACT values. (Purpose: Using our strengths passionately to contribute to our mission. Transparency: Doing things openly and honestly). ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Reliable, consistent, attendance is a requirement. This position requires punctuality and dependable attendance to meet the needs of the business, including attending and taking part in meetings and presentations. Ensures all supplies are available for the week’s menu and the daily food production and transportation. Checks daily number counts for all sites, and changes daily number/milk sheet counts, if needed. Labels all food transportation equipment for delivery. Prepares meal orders for transportation, which includes maintaining accuracy in counting meal components and milk for distribution. Provides the Chef/Lead Cook with a list of missing paperwork weekly for each. Organizes meals and paperwork for delivery drivers. Records all equipment damage, loss, or stolen to the Production Supervisor. Keeps an accurate inventory of all equipment. Ensures that all injuries are reported in a timely manner with accurate documentation. Assists in maintaining all records required for Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), Houston Food Bank, and any other required documents. Follows portion control protocols while working on the packaging lines. Ensures all work areas are cleaned and sanitized after the completion of each project. Assists cooks in meal service needs such as prep work and panning food items. Maintains the daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule. Completes all tasks assigned in multiple project areas. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience: High School Diploma from an accredited school or general education development (GED) certificate 1 year of relevant experience 1+ years of customer service experience preferred Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: None Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The employee will be exposed to loud/elevated noises throughout the workday. TRAVEL REQUIRED: No travel is required for this role. This role supports hours of operations at the Houston Food Bank facilities, as necessary, and may require flexibility (e.g., times of disaster, community events, company events). *Is legally able to work in the United States.
