JOIN OUR TEAM AS A PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Are you ready to become an essential part of our dedicated Production team? As a Production Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in our pastry production process, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. This includes the crucial responsibility of setting up our machines at the start of each shift to ensure seamless operations. Hours of work will be 06:00 to 16:00 (with 2 x 30 minutes unpaid breaks), working 4 out of 5 days with a rotational day off.
Starting salary is £12.50 per hour with an enhanced rate of £15.63 per hour. (Enhanced rate is for hours between 20:00 and 06:00 and for hours over 37.5 per week).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Setup: You will be responsible for the initial setup of our production machines at the beginning of each shift, ensuring they are set up correctly for the shift
  • Line Operation: You’ll be in charge of operating the production line, making sure it runs at the optimal speed to match the number of hand crimpers working on the line.
  • Supplying Pastry Bases: You’ll also be responsible for keeping our hand lines well-supplied with pastry bases, making sure they are readily available for our skilled crimping team.
  • Depositor Operation: Operating depositors is another important aspect of your role, as you’ll ensure that pastry bases are accurately filled and prepared for hand crimping operatives.
  • Layered Products: In the case of layered products, you will be responsible for accurately depositing the required quantities of vegetables onto bases for our delectable hand-crimped pasties.
  • Waste Management: We take waste and yield management seriously, and you will be responsible for collecting and handling waste properly to maintain a clean and efficient work environment for the hand crimping operatives.
  • Quality Control: Performing weight checks on filled bases is vital to our quality control efforts, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards.
  • Product Marking: Marking products is part of your responsibility to maintain organization and traceability throughout the production process.
  • Decorative Touch: Adding the finishing touches to bespoke products by applying decorative elements will also be a part of your role from time to time.
  • Topping Application: For products that require toppings, you’ll operate the topper equipment to guarantee the precise application of toppings, such as herbs and rusk.
  • Glazer Operation: Operating glazers is a part of your role, which involves ensuring it’s functioning correctly, offering consistent glaze coverage and at the correct speed.
