Description The Production Assistant is a vital role in ensuring that the construction of the home goes smoothly and that our community appearances are kept looking great. This role is one of the hardest working on our team and are willing to help as needed wherever that may be. Essential Job Functions: Ensure that job sites remain clean and organized. All trash cans and tools are returned to construction storage and secured. Ensure that all assigned communities are maintained presentable in appearance, including all marketing signs appropriately displayed. Follow safety guidelines and address any concerns immediately to prevent accidents. Complete tasks as assigned within allotted time frame. Review and complete all punch list items in a timely manner. Document all deliveries to the jobsites and audit materials. Use effective time management techniques to schedule and complete daily tasks. Ensure Model and Market homes are well maintained, repairs completed quickly, and always secured. Communicate effectively with Project Manager or Production Supervisor regarding daily tasks and status of outstanding items. Identify, analyze, and solve problems with a focus on short-term and long-term impact of solutions. Demonstrate good judgment skills. Support and train coworkers as necessary to coach them and increase their knowledge, skills, and competency. Act professionally and courteously when dealing with coworkers, trade partners, inspectors, or homeowners. Ensure that assigned communities have an orderly appearance and provide appropriate bins or receptacles for disposal of scraps or unwanted materials. Monitor and evaluate construction materials and expenses ensuring cost control methods are used. Ensure all homes under construction are secured, thermostats are set to company guidelines, and lights are turned off at the end of each day. Develop and nurture trade partner relations to ensure open communication and feedback is exchanged without conflict. Subject to changes, modifications, additions and/or deletions. Requirements Essential Environmental Demands: Generally OUTSIDE environment Generally NOT Air-Conditioned/Heated environment Subject to weather conditions (rain, heat, snow, etc.) Background noise is moderate to heavy at times. Hazardous environment Environment is not controlled for fumes, dust or odors. Essential Physical Demands: Lifting up to 100 pounds Sufficient ability to maneuver safely on job site confronting rough terrain, trenches, and uncompleted framing and roof structures. Must be able to climb ladders. Constant stooping or bending over Overhead as well as horizontal reaching is required Cultural/regional speaking accents are acceptable Hearing is required Visually able to inspect and approve each phase of construction. This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor, Project Manager or another manager as directed. This job description is not limited to the specific duties and responsibilities as outlined. The employee may be required to perform duties of a similar or comparable nature and/or assist with projects or assignments as required.
