JOB SUMMARY:

The production associate is a key member of the grand format & installations department ensuring production quality is achieved as well as playing a key role in customer satisfaction goals.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in Print Production
  • College Diploma in Digital production / Digital media arts / Digital design
  • Knowledge of Quality Control & Graphic Design (definite asset)
  • Comprehensive background with: Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, Corel Draw, PDF plug-ins, postscript files
  • Ability to prepare files for output and manipulate files electronically
  • Complete knowledge of digital colour systems, including extensive knowledge of colour correction
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive upbeat attitude

Responsibilities
  • Operate MAC/PC computer software to print large format colour jobs
  • Retrieve digital files accurately from storage on a network, ftp site, email for print set-up and production
  • Proof finished products for any errors, including colour and size deviations
  • Communicate and trouble shoot with other departments to meet deadlines
  • Provide general cleaning and maintenance of colour printers and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and department
  • Follow procedures established to ensure accurate work
  • Retrieve stock from warehouse for printing
  • Operating large format printers and digital cutters
  • Gather, organize, and wrap completed work for delivery to customer or next department
  • Trimming and finishing of completed orders
  • Installation of finished goods using appropriate tools and equipment
  • Meet with clients both on or off site to confirm measurements or missing information
  • Monitor work for high quality
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and department
  • Some heavy lifting over 50lbs may be required
  • Abide by all company rules and regulations, including those set forth in the Personnel Handbook
  • Comply with all Occupational Health & Safety Act requirements
