Description CANOPY MARINE ACCESS LLC dba American Muscle Docks and Fabrication seeks a full-time welder join our welding/fabrication operations in Wellsburg, WV. This person performs welding, fabrication, construction, assembly, and transporting of raw materials, boat dock assemblies, and parts. The position reports to a Team Leader and the Director of Operations. WHAT THE ROLE DOES: Reads and comprehends workmanship standards and verbal instructions to safely and efficiently produce quality parts and assemblies. Accurately completes production, quality, and safety documentation. Verifies equipment set-up and performs safety checks. Follows safe job procedures and Safety Data Sheets. Performs MIG, TIG, spot welding; operates surface grinders and cutting torches. Uses hand and power tools. Randomly checks quality to ensure specifications are met. Moves, organizes, and stores raw materials, finished goods, tools, machine parts, etc.; assures load stability. Uses proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment, e.g., forklifts, stand-ups, pallet jacks, tow motors, safety cages, industrial ladders, etc. This is a “safety-sensitive” position requiring pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. Uses mechanical-assisted or team lifting techniques to handle loads up to 70 lbs. Cleans and sanitizes work areas, tools, etc. Keeps manufacturing, warehouse, staging, storage, and inventory locations well-organized. Requirements THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS: High school degree or equivalent. AWS welding/fabrication certification is a plus. OSHA 10/30 certification is desirable. 1-3 years of experience in welding (TIG/MIG/Stick) and fabrication of aluminum and steel components. Prior hands-on metal fabrication experience is desirable (press brakes, drill presses, grinders, ironworkers, saws, shears, etc.) Forklift (propane, electric, or diesel) and stand-up operation and material handling experience are additional assets. Effective applied math skills are required to accurately count, weigh, and measure materials to meet specifications. Ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints is preferable. Time management, problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Computer proficiency with email, Word, Excel, timecard entry systems, and web-based personnel systems. Highly ethical, positive cultural addition, self-motivated, combined with a desire to learn new skills. Finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination.
